As i've said before, it's really unfair to compare these two series.
The vampire chronicles are written on a much higher level.
They're different genres.
They only similarities are the fact that they both have vampires. (different kinds of vampires at that)

That being said, I prefer Anne Rice's work.

Actually, I've never read the Vampire Chronicles. But I have a strong dislike for Twilight. Stephanie Meyer's vampires really aren't vampires. They're kinda like vampire 'wannabes'.

Especially after reading Bram Stoker's Dracula. It makes every vampire seem like p***y after Vampire-Lucy.
Moral? If you want good vampire-fiction, try Bram Stoker. His has relevant themes. biggrin

Twilight is an okay story but it's terribly written. It's childrens' literature written by an admittedly inexperienced 'author'.

The Vampire Chronicles is written by a very talented, very experienced writer and has extremely deep and well constructed storylines with very good writing style and terrific characters.

Twilight's not BAD I guess, but comparing these two is like comparing Disney's Snow Dogs to the movie Eight Below.
