It's so cute when random 30 year olds sweet talk me. Thanks, sugar.

Anytime, whipper snapper. Now get the ******** off my lawn.

I don't recall being anywhere near your nether region.

Oh snap! With a name like Blackhardt, I'm sure it's difficult to keep track. Probably should go get tested for safety. But enough of this flim flam. I say your fashion sucks, and you hate mine. We're square. Neither of us gives a s**t. Another "The More You Know" moment for retards on Gaia about opinions.

If you dressed like a proper Victorian woman, I would likely find you very attractive. But instead, you bought into that Japanese bullshit.

XD I don't dress lolita every day, dude. I dress like this, this, or this as everyday clothes. Which ironically are pretty 19thc. The majority of people who are into lolita fashion only do it as a part time thing, and have other fashion interests. It's just way too time consuming.
I like it. I think I could pull it off, but I'm not positive. I really want to try wearing it but it's so expensive.... cry

Where do you get this kind of thing? Someone should tell me. I've always loved the style but I have no idea where I'm suppose to get any of the cutesy frilly skirts and shirts. I think I might like the style because it reminds me of when I was in pagents 4laugh
To me Lolita fashion was way bigger a few years ago.. it takes alot of guts to wear it daily and nicely. It is very sweet but some don't come with a sweet personality talk2hand

I'll take your word for it.

But the dresses are still to freaking eye catchy 8l

Anything that is outside the norm is going to be eye-catchy. I wear a bonnet on a daily basis, and a full length apron, which is a far cry from lolita, but it's still eye-catchy. Nothing really I can do about it.

I dunno you, but I think that anyone who wears lolita stuff just seeks atention. And I dislike atention whores.

User Image
You're joking right?

Why do you even assume that they want attention just because they're dressing how they like to dress?

Well, so far the ones I've seen like acting all cute and mysteryous and Oh So Secretive, as if the wanted to be the first thing to be seen in the room. Also, the outfit itself is pretty eye catchy.

Guess I just haven't seen enough lolitas around.

And no, I wasn't joking :l

Eye catchy outfit =/= instantly mean for attention. Maybe they just feel comfortable that way, for themselves.

It's just lame to generalize "anyone who wears lolita stuff just seeks attention*" just based off of what only you've seen...

Well, how many girls do you see dressed like that?

Not many I bet. Unless you're part of some lolita group.

I'm not gonna make a fool of myself and say I meant another thing when I said lolitas are atention seekers, I said it and I meant it. But like I said before I haven't met enough lolitas in my life.
I love lolita, I think its beautiful.

LolitaFashion.org is a great website full of information for people new to the fashion. I'd recommend doing some reading before buying, you'll thank yourself later. That database also has a great list of reputable places to buy from.

Interestingly enough, I don't dress like my sig every day. In fact, most of the time, I'm dressed more along the lines of this, and/or this. (except minus the red streak in my hair, because I quickly became aware of how gay it is)

Though, I understand why people who are into that don't doll up like that all the time, it looks like a real chore. I know it's just my opinion, but the real thing is so much better, like in the pictures you posted. I just view lolita as a soul-less Japanese attempt to "market" the Victorian era.

I must say, the facial hair is very amusing (not in an offensive way).

lul I love seeing people irl who does some serious s**t to their mustaches and whatnot.

Most lolitas do meetups/get togethers, based on their geographical region, so that they can meet and make friends with people who share the same enthusiasm about the fashion. It's generally based on state in the U.S. (or country if outside the U.S.). So there actually are "lolita groups", as it were. The largest English speaking community about the fashion is on Livejournal, and it has over 10,000 members. I'm just in lonely old Michigan and we have over twenty girls who regularly attend meetups.

That being said, I've known many girls who have either quit the fashion or loved it and never dressed it because they don't want to deal with standing out and attracting negative attention in an everyday setting. Which, obviously, means that they're the complete opposite of attention seeking, but loved the fashion and hated the attention it brought. That isn't to say that there aren't attention seekers who are using lolita as a tool, but I think I'm safe to say the the vast majority of people just view it as a fashion choice.

On the website! They have great guides specifically designed for new people interested in lolita to learn from. The Lolita Handbook is another great resource.

Well basically you can check the first page of the official F&S thread. There's a list of stores and places you can look at.
Some of the clothing are expensive, others are cheaper in the 30-60/70 dollar range.

There aren't that many good places that are within the U.S. that sells lolita, but the majority that does sell them that are listed are very good quality.

If you want to make your own things though, you can just ask as well.
