isn't that oxymoronic? atheism is, after all, the dis-believe in a god or gods.
No. Atheism is a belief ( the doubt ), agnosticism is a knowledge claim ( the not being positive ).

No. Atheism is a belief ( the doubt ), agnosticism is a knowledge claim ( the not being positive ).

But If Ye Doth Be Unsure Then Ye Not Claim To Doubt God But Then Doubt Thy Doubt. For If Ye Doubt Thy Doubt Then Just Doubt, Thus Making Agnostic. And Wrong. And Lazy. And Agnostic

Not necessarily. The concrete defintiion of atheism is up for debate. I think it is more accurately put as the lack of a belief in God(s).

Agnosticism/gnosticism pertains to KNOWLEDGE
Atheism/theism pertains to BELIEF

atheism is the disbelief, while agnosticism is not knowing. wouldn't saying your both an atheist (there isn't a god) and a agnostic (i'm not sure if there's a god) kinda contradictory?
