it's so widely accepted that the ultimate, biological purpose for life is to procreate
yes it's a pretty meaningless existance, since you're only living to create offspring, which will only live to create more offspring.
but everything points in that direction.
it's said that our stone-age ancestors began to have children at around 20, and see them off at around 55. that's when they could die with out "damaging our reproductive success"
while organisms are young, the bad genes are weeded out with things like natural selection, but once we breed, it doesnt matter who dies, because the ultimate goal has been completed, and our systems can begin to deteriorate.
