Yes! That's what i think happens sometimes you know? Like people hear "you'll never make it." or they get rejected by a client a lot and then they start to think negatively about themselves and forget that the industry they are in involves a lot of rejection. You just have to stay strong! You said it perfect! biggrin DDDDD

yeah, you've just got to remember that you are not what other people think of you, you are who you were before your opinions, and you do not depend on who someone says you are.

I haven't booked any jobs yet, but your still working by watching what you eat and stuff you know? It's not really work though, the whole process is fun for me because i know i'm doing what i love or helping myself be better at doing what i love. You should just tell yourself how you really want to do it, and just get up and do it you know? Like just push away all that "i don't feel like getting up right now." feelings and get up and start.

i know, i know, and i'm working on it. i swear to god i am trying! i, personally, want to be a musician when i'm older, but modeling i think is such an interesting career, i've done some for my photographer friends and everything, and they liked me, but my self esteem in the way i look is nearly nonexistant these days (typical for a teenager, of course), which is the only thing that's truly bringing me down lately.

Don't have a low self esteem, point out the positives in you you know? Also the negatives, so you can grow and learn and change from them. also i tried out for modeling when i was i child
i was rejected because they were looking for kids wearing darker
colors, while i went wearing yellow, apparently

they probably just wanted to let me off easily, and not

But to be a high fashion model isn't something you can just wake up and do.
You gotta watch what you eat, and keep your body toned, and crap.

Lolz. Like other people have said in this thread, people can be dicks in the industry. You can walk in for a go see, and the minute you walk in the door the client can be like "thank you." That's it. Go see over. They saw you for five seconds but didn't like your look, so why keep you here to continue any further? For females (maybe even males) some clients who are perverted might try to bargain with the models with things like "if you suck my d**k i'll get you the job." Yeah, it happens. Pressures like these are in the modeling industry, and some other industries i'm sure as well. Also, there is a lot of sex, drugs, and partying in the modeling industry, and that is another aspect in which responsibility comes in. Drugs everyone knows can ruin your life. You can hook up with the wrong person, catch something, or both with sex, and if you have a job to do early in the morning (photo shoots can start REALLY early) and you go out and party then wake up in the morning with a massive hangover and big black circles and bags under your eyes, that's not good. It's not professional and shows your lack of professionalism. It's not as glamourous as it looks as people have stated, but there are upsides to it as well! biggrin

Alot of that sort of stuff is everywhere, unfortunately.
Especially the sex bit though.
Does it go far up the chain enough that you can't report people to the police?

Oh, and do you know how tall one has to be to petite model?

I went to the mall this morning with my friends and there was this mini fashion show thing going on.
I expected there to be really pretty models and stuff, but DAMN there were some ugly ********.

Some kids at my school slack off and stuff because they think they are going to be high fashion models. These kids think they are gods gift to humanity. -_- But they are damn ugly.

Well if someone asked you to do that, you can say no. It's not like they are MAKING you. You can say no, but you might not get the job, and that is where a lot of models might do it so they get that job. Personally, i wouldn't degrade myself in that matter. Well if my memory serves me, i think they like the female models to be at least anywhere from 5'7-5'9. You can research it though, like on a modeling agencies site.
