Boo ******** hoo. Cry us a goddamn river. If you can't accept the simplest fact that EVERYONE else isn't 'Atheist' or 'Agnostics' and has a different religion than you isn't just gonna stop saying the pledge because a few whiny bitches are gonna complain about it.
Note: I'm not putting the quotes around the two terms just to be an a*****e.

"The agnostics"... The way you said that makes me think you don't actually know what agnostic individuals at your school think about the situation. I'm agnostic, and being such I don't care whether or not we say God in the pledge, because I am agnostic. It's fine with me either way. That's what being agnostic is all about.

Religion isn't forced on anyone. If you choose to view it that way, you need to go somewhere that actually does force people to believe something. Maybe then you'll understand the difference, and stop bitching about things that aren't really an issue. Religion isn't polluting anyone's minds. In my experience, religious folks tend to be better PEOPLE than atheists that force THEIR views on the rest of society.

And people can wear crosses if they want to. We are a free country. But then again, you probably aren't a big fan of freedom if you refuse to pledge your allegiance to this great nation. You make me sick.
If people didn't care about the state of the US, the ACLU wouldn't exist.

When I graduate, I plan to go and join them and hopefully help assess cases like the one about the teacher having his Bible in plain view at school on his desk. That is now allowed, it is unconstitutional.

I am trying to get people to WAKE UP and stop being SHEEP.

OMG A BIBLE OH NOES gonk

its not like he's ******** reading it in class and saying its the truth or w/e he's just a god damn religious man who like to have the book of the religion that gives him hope close to him. stop being an idiot
The desk is public property.

The bible is set there in plain view, advertising his religion.

It should be removed.

i myself am an agnostic so i feel you on some of this....however the school is doing nothing wrong....they don't stop christians from expressing their religion however they don't stop you form expressing yours...you can say what you want during the alligence...Ive done it...so from your point of view it seems like your just bashing religion being allowed in school...but its allowed not inforced

I'm an atheist and I don't mind the mention of god in the Pledge.
I even stand for the Pledge when we say it in the morning.

How is it even offensive?

Um, hello? There are millions of advertisements being shoved down our throats everyday.
At least the so called "advertisement" of his Bible isn't advertising Sex, Drugs, Violence
and Pain. He was doing the entire classroom a favor.

YOU ARE A SHEEP. Someone, somewhere in your past convinced you that God does not exist. You follow them just like others follow Christianity, Buddhism, and Satanism. Others have attempted your epic failure of a protest, and all have been shot down. I wonder why...

I never said people don't care about the state of the US, I said that agnostic people couldn't care less whether we do or do not mention God in a public place. We don't give a rat's a**. You should read before you argue. It makes for a more convincing statement.

I personally don't care about people's religious views, as long as they don't impose on mine. If you don't like the pledge, don't say it. That's a reasonable thing to do. Starting a protest just makes you look like an intolerant moron.

the existance of a bible does not advertise it

the bible doesnt come with a "HEY LOOK AT THIS, ITS THE WORD OF GOD BELIEVE IN IT" sign, infact the only thing the bible has on it is usually "bible" and a cross
plus its not like he's waving it around, no its even next to his papers and w/e its not on a ******** pedastal infront of the class

and a school desk is not public property, if it was anyone could come in and sit on it or use it.

stare Well, school on a Sunday must suck...
But...

I'm an atheist and I stand for the pledge.
It's more of an issue of respect than anything else.
You're not standing for God.

If you don't want to say the pledge then don't ******** say it.
Wow how hard is that?
This is about forcing the concept of God on people, though.

it's not right.

Nobody is forcing you to go to church just like they aren't forcing you to say the pledge.
You do know that by saying this you are pretty much being ungrateful right?
So what it says God. I'm agnostic and I don't have a b***h fit over God being in the pledge.
This country was founded by Christian people and the least you could do is pay respect to those who loose their lives to keep your ungrateful a** safe and not forced into some other religion.

But it is forcing people to hear the mention of a God if it's a public school.

Religious schools are private, but they shouldn't exist anyway.
User ImageUser Image

why the hell shouldnt they exist? people have the right to go to a religious school if thats what they believe in.
i know of many, many more religious public schools than i do private ones. i'm going to one for 6th form.
There are people who are not religious but are forced to go because of their parents.

A public school where you don't have to worry about that is a more comfortable environment.
User ImageUser Image

i'm not religious. i chose to go there. its a catholic school, granted, it has a cross as a main feature outside and i'll still have to have religious studies lessons. someone who isnt religious shouldnt have an active hatred towards the religion, the same way religious people shouldnt judge people who dont have beliefs. people get sent these places because they are good schools, not only because of the religious background.
its far more likely for any state school to be religious, given that so many of them are funded by churches. public schools funded by the government are often of a much lower standard than the religious ones.
nobody worries about religion in these cases.
nobody worries about it except for pathetic people like you.

I found out for myself when I read the Bible that God doesn't exist.

You care about what I think though.

Good Lord, if you can't even have respect for this country to stand up during the pledge, then you deserve to be shipped off to Cuba.
