Maybe the cycle just takes longer for some people. I mean, I started really early (at nine, ugh) so I guess that might be part of the reason why...

You should see a gynecologist. It's not comfortable, I'm sure, but at least you'll know what the hell's going on.

I'd rather just not have a regular period than be on the pill or shot or anything else.

If you go to a doctor then they'll give you tablets.
Its not birth control, and you can still get pregnant when your taking them
But you gotta take them for however long the doctor tells you too
I took them for a week, 3 tablets in a day. 1 at breakfast, 1 at lunch and 1 at supper.
You gotta be proper responsible though. If you forget to take one, then your screwed.
But that rarely happens.
The tablets are called Norethisterone I think.

Mine has never done that. xD I've had my period every month since I've started. This is the best period so far, I'm having minimal cramps, and I usually only have cramps on the first day...then near the end. Then it finishes. W00t. :]
