Welcome to Gaia! ::

It happens to every sport really, in the early 20th century the most popular sports were horse racing, boxing, and baseball. All of those have declined in popularity and only baseball is still that popular.
Sport will die out. God bless internet.

Hockey isn't as popular and the problem seems to be with high school and college level head injuries and lawsuits because of them are increaing.

I'm thinking more so those who play locally. Or at least the kids who play hockey. I figure skate, and most of the kids who play hockey...holy ********, you can not be on the ice at the same time without fearing for a nasty fall.

A lot of youth leagues are adjusting their regulations to try to eliminate/minimize head injuries, but IMO it's a pipe dream.
Football and Hockey are physical sports, and injuries are guaranteed to happen. Unless you eliminate the physical element, but then there's little entertainment value.
Hopefully. It's all my bf ever talks about during the season.
