We were meant to consume and digest flesh AND vegetable. Not one or the other. Not all vegetarians are the healthiest people in the world.
Nor are all meat eaters the healthiest people. Just given the fact that vegetarians tend to frequent McDonalds and other ridiculously unhealthy fast food chains, as well as the fact that (because of the need for some degree of diet-watching to make sure one gets enough nutrients) most vegetarians watch what they eat, obesity levels are generally lower in vegetarians than omnivores. There's also the whole cholesterol thing.
Heck, even if you just
cut down on the amount of meat you eat, you'd do the world a great service.
