Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder)

I'm researching it. I'd love to know if anyone knows any good sites or good books to read on it. I'm doing some research for a story I'm writing and I want the character and his personalities to be as well developed as possible.

I'd really want an educated medical view,I want to know symptoms, behaviors, what people think causes it the whole nine yards. If you can help me find a good place to study this let me know.

I have been looking on sites but haven't found anything.

Also I don't have a medical degree and my reading level isn't particularly high so please don't recommend me books that would take a degree to understand. sweatdrop

Or, learn to read. It's really not that hard to understand a college text.
I don't know anything about the disorder, so that's all I can say to help.
Band,

Why post if you're going to be rude. Maybe I have reading difficulties you don't know about and or understand. Not everyone is at the same reading level as others. I didn't post this topic to be judged or to judge others.

Your welcome. I have only seen the updated movie on lifetime, but the old movie and book should be great too.

if you don't mind watching it in a form of anime, then watch chaos;head.

it's a physiological thriller and the main character happens to have multiple personality disorder.

i think the anime was a remake from a novel, you can search it up!

You can google it. But I guess try wikipedia, or www.medicinenet.com, up I'm sure if you look it up in a medical dictionary, you would get some good information. But that's it I can give you if you don't want to go to university and college level stuff.

Rin,

If you don't want to come across rude people, don't come to the GD.
But srsly now, I wasn't really trying to be overly rude. I'm sure that if you had a reading disability, you could overcome it. Besides, how could you write a decent story when you have a reading disability?
Higher levels of reading helps story-writing immensely. It's just something that I suggest you work on.

well Wiki and WebMD referred to them as the same thing, do you have a different source I could look at?

It was just an example. I'm not going to read something over my head, because all it's going to do is frustrate me and I'm going to give up. My goal is to follow this story through and I'm going to receive what information I can in a way I can understand.

Also just because it's the GD doesn't give people an excuse to be rude. I don't care where you are, you know what manners are and how to use them. These standards shouldn't be any lower on the internet.
