I dislike this fad immensely. Girls do not do it to get a boy's attention, they do it to be cool "Sally's cool because she's bi and I'll be cool if I'm bi." A simple stereotype situation. I have found many "bi" girls date generally boys. I have also met many "bis" that have never had a girlfriend, have been asked out by a girl and rejected it quickly, and many guys like the idea of having a "bi" girlfriend.

Since I don't believe in sexuality, but one's preference in physical appearance, I cannot classify "true bis" from "fake bis" but I will say announcing you like both genders to an audience, and hearing gasps and comments, is simply an attention grabber.

So agreed. 3nodding
Some people just say they're bi just to get attention, while others are being honest about it. It swings both ways.
♠ Bisexuality does exist. Pete Burns (who is the singer of that famous song; you know- User Image ) had a wife and a boyfriend on the side for many, many years. Keep in mind that just because we live in a monogamous society doesn't mean that bisexuality doesn't exist. ♠
let the people ********]

more pronz for meh
Practically all guys like lesbian sex, so girls say they're bi so guys will find them hotter.
It's a stupid fad that girls usually grow out of.
It pisses me off because I'm one of the legitimate bisexuals.
I really am attracted to both boys and girls.

Ha! I see what you did there.

But yes, that's what I'm saying here. Too many people ITT think that I'm saying bisexuals don't exist. They need a lesson in reading comprehension. The title is "Bisexuality as a Fad" not "Bisexuality is a Fad".

Pogs were definitely in the 90s, not the 80s. You are remember it wrong.

just because they weren't popular until the 90's doesn't mean they didn't exist in the 80's

True, they were invented in the 20s, BUT they weren't revitalized until 1991. The only way you played with them in the 80s is if you are a Hawaiian with a grandmother who introduced them to you.

wherever you got your information, you are clearly mistaken. My parents gave my brother pogs for his 5th birthday, he was born in 1984 meaning he got them in 1989. I was born in 88. I remember stealing his pogs when I was 3 in 1991 when they were so called 'revitalized'

Wait, where are you from?
I was born in 1984 and NO one had pogs until I was in about 5th grade. Maybe different parts of the country had them at different times...

I'm from Texas. Besides, it wouldn't make sense for the entire country to get them on the same day. Besides, fads become popular in one place and spread out from there.

AGH! THIS IS NOT THE POGSEXUAL THREAD!!! scream
as with anything...some kids are just saying "im bi" thinking it will somehow make them seem more popular, without ever having a thought like that in their entire life, but....some kids are truly attracted to both genders. the diff is they usually dont make a big deal of it.

Okay, I'm from the Midwest. We are behind on trends, most likely. But you would have to agree that the pop culture explosion of them was in the 90s ^_^

Ignore Cheezy. We don't have to talk about bisexuals if we don't want to. HE brought up the pogs in the OP.

YES YOU DO!!!

Unless you are a pansexual that wants to ******** one of those plastic tubes you store pogs in...
i feel like alot of people ar bi for the attention ar just because they are curious. but other people are bi because they fall in love with a person who happends to be of the same sex. before you are a gender you are a person.
but yes i do think in teenage girls it is a fad
