Anyone in College/University?

I'm in my second year... got one more year to go after this semester.

Dissertation planning is rather scary.

Anyone else starting dissertations or something similar? Mine's on MHC variation in deer, still debating whether to focus on red or roe deer. My supervisor wants to take me up north to Scotland to observe them, we already have samples collected to do analysis on genetics.

She's already talking to me about PhD work... slow down woman... I don't even know if I want to do a Master's yet. Let me get through my dissertation first... eek

but I'm going to do work experience with an NGO instead of a dissertation because I didn't get accepted to go on study abroad :'c

I had applied to go to Stockholm university in Sweden but my university only allows 4 people to go per university. neutral

I had applied to go to Stockholm university in Sweden but my university only allows 4 people to go per university. neutral Interesting. Well... I'm hoping to get an internship abroad after this in the field of conservation research. I don't mind staying in Europe... but I would like to go the states.. maybe Asia.

You can go to college for 3 years?

I go by a different system, I'm at University and I also go to school in England . I studying toward my Bachelor of Science degree.... most degree courses are three years, some are four.

What do you want to do your PhD in?

I want to shoot for a Ph.D. in theoretical linguistics-- from a school that adheres to the functionalist tradition. Which--stateside--pretty much restricts me to: Oregon (where I graduated), Texas, Colorado, Hawaii, New mexico, or California.

I've tinkered with the idea of going to Uni in Glasgow as well-- I have many friends in Glasgow and I love the city-- but I think it might be a tad on the expensive side for me.

when march rolls around i'm working with one of my co-workers to plan for my thesis and capstone project (engineer up in here)
