Seriously, they did fall in the same trap that Nintendo did with the N64. The difference is, they're rectifying the mistakes.

The only console of mine to ever outright fail, as my first PSone...due to DRE....all the others I just plainly wore them the hell out.

If it causes the console to fail in any way, it's a problem. Hell, the DREs resulted in a class-action lawsuit.
