easy to lose, not reliable enough, they don't hold a lot of memory, and can break easily.

o contrare they g cube cards can get up to 1012 blocks of mem.
sold at media play x16 card
ps2 can get up to 24 mb. in one card
also at media play x3 card
i still perfer the hard drive. They don't get corrupted, hardly ever run out of space, and aren't easy to lose(unless you lose the xbox itself, or take the hard drive out of the ps2, but it's still hard to lose).

How the ******** can you lose an Xbox? It's the size of a VCR for crying out loud! xd
i don't know, how. that's why i perfer harddrives

Not to mention they are faster and can hold entire games. 3nodding
I dont hv a problem with mine but they r ez to lose
I'm actually looking for 4 of mine... sweatdrop crying
I got the sudden urge to restart FF7,FF8, and FFT. One of my memory cards are full of saves from where Aeris dies!

*Laughs evily, then ducks behind a flame sheild before the Aeris Fanbase tries lynching him*

I hate her for personal reasons, but Aeris the character saved my a** in Wutai! Anyways, Yeah, I'm gonna go searching for them now

*Blinks, and equips katars to sift through the junk in his room*

EDIT: Also, on a note, I currently hate memory cards stressed
I always saw Memory cards as sort of a... trophy room, or like a photo album of VG memories. Whenever I'm trying to remember the name of some game I rented, and loved to reccomend to someone I just pop in the memory card, and all the memories of the game come back. And it's nice to quickly be able to show off how well I did in all the different games I played. Sort of like a museum of VG achievements...

I think some just don't like them because if you lose them, you're SOL. And of course, it's no fun when you buy a new console, and can't save any of your games till you get a memory card.
well guys kewl your jets...none of the next gen systems will have HD's

they are too easly modded and eventually lead to pirate games

instead onboard flashmen will be used (more mem that a regular mem card..less than a HD) these are solid state mem storage devices kinda like pc ram...which is such an improvement because an XboX HD with it's moving parts will eventually crash years and years down the road

Yea, that sucks, I remember I had to beat FFVII without a memory card cause I couldn't get one. sweatdrop
How do you break a memory card? o_o I've never broken one. They've always been good to me.

So I like them. ^^
Personally, I haven't seen any "I h4t3 M3m0ry C4rd$!!!!!11" Threads (Or ones with actual spelling) But I don't really have a problem with memory cards. I haven't ever lost mine, and it holds more than enough data for me.

But then again, I'm not a "hard core" gamer.
Mem cards are good when you rent or borrow games.
The thing I don't like about hard-drives in Consoles is that you'll need to use your own console to play your own files, not good for going over to friends houses and all night video game parties
They don't really annoy me...except they are damn expensive. You can buy two discount games for the price of a GC card!

Well, most everyone has mentioned the many pros & cons to both memory cards & hard drives. I myself prefere mem. cards, but I would like them to be a bit tougher, & much less likely to corrupt your data (this happened innurable times w/ my PSO files ;. wink . Another good side to mem. cards is they are MUCH cheaper than a built-in HD.

Hm... Gamecube for $99 & a $25 mem. card or a $180 X-Box? lol

Built in harddrive = 10 GB+ (can be modded to have over 100GB)
memory card = 30 MB+

Tell the difference yourself, and don't start on the systems, the xbox is priced that because you get what you pay for, same goes with gamecube. Good system = expensive. Crap System = cheap. Look at the SNES, it's so much pwnage that it's STILL high priced. Another thing...

---Gamecube---
small games
portable (its got a ******** handle, its looks like a bloody purse...WHY?!)
ugly

---Xbox---
built in harddrive
built in fast modem
looks like the s**t
good controller layout for anything
can play DVD's
harddrive can hold anything if connected to comp

Tell the difference, Gamecube itself is poorly made s**t, while Xbox is a new level of gaming with all of the nice things added on.

All i have to say is this about this "Xbox is grand" thing

Look here: http://maddox.xmission.com/xbox_suckit.html
ive lost mine, but ive always found em, i dont see how you can break them without jumping on em, ive never broke mine when i step on em
I like and hate them, I enjoy being able to take my save data to friend's houses but I hate having to buy them because I shouldn't have to waste that much money on one.
Am I the only one who's sad enough to save my game data onto -two- memory cards? That way if one gets corrupted or I lose it, I have a back up file. o_o

Nyeh, I like memory cards.. they havn't failed me yet and I'm already prepared for if they ever do. *nods* It's a hell of a step up from passwords and not saving at all, eh. :B
Only problem is that they can be a bit pricey.
