No. It works on Windows XP, Vista, and MAC OS X
Sims 3 is awesome. It isn't slow on my computer at all. Though it is new. I don't know much about computers. Just that I have Windows Vista. And that the Sims 3 game requires you to have a really good graphics card. But its awesome!
Even though my copy of the game hasn't even arrived yet, I've already been planning out my first family.

The dad's basically a well-rounded family man with aspirations in the political career, though maybe I'll throw in some commitment issues to make things interesting.
The mum's a charismatic trophy wife, social butterfly and a great cook. She also likes to collect other people's lawn gnomes.
Kids are... blagh I'll figure something out. I'll try not to give everyone the insane trait but it will be difficult.

TL;DR
Unf I want this game.

EDIT:
Also an inappropriate, outdoors-hating, computer-loving loser basement-dweller. Maybe put him in a house with a party animal, see what happens.

Update your driver's. If you're with Dell, you have to go to their website to do it. Even then, it's not going to work your game completely until you call your computer's manufactuer to fix your driver's and talk to them about what sort of problems you're getting. iex: abrupt crashing of the game, or blue-screening of the computer.
mine has both of those examples T.T

Okay, well that's an easy problem to fix. It's in your paperwork thing on your computer, but a lot of people don't read it. What you need to do is go to "start" or whatever your button is on your computer and go to "all programs"-->"run"--type in "dxdiag". That's your directx thing, and this thing is going to pop up. You're going to want to look for your manufactuer and then go to their website and get all the driver updates for your Sound and Audio ONLY. Because that's all you really need, UNLESS the other drivers aren't working. You can test them by clicking on the different tabs on that popup. It's harmless...and if you still are getting problems, you need to get ahold of..well, I use Dell...So my dad would be calling Dell. ^__^

I don't know much about SIMS. Never played it except once for a brief moment. The game was always too hard for me to figure out. I like games that are easy to learn without having to read the instructions. xD And I have no idea what kind of character traits I would give my SIMS character.
