Silent Hill 5 and Silent Hill Homecoming are two names for the same game. Homecoming was promoted as "Silent Hill 5" during the early advertisements.

I wouldn't really consider Shattered Memories "Silent Hill 6", though, since the game is more of a stand-alone "what-if?" scenario.

i don't really consider home coming as "SH" part 5....
and everyone knows that shattered memories is not part 6 of the series...

Regardless of how you see the game, Konami considered it the fifth installment of the series back when it was first revealed to the public.

and the "travis" character is pretty interesting in way i also already knew that homecoming is "SH" part 5...
but i think that game was just plain terrible and full crap in a bucket and they called it
"chocolate pudding" so i was hopeing maybe they will release the title again only this time its called "Silent Hill V "

and of course "travis" is disconnected from the series,
"SH" origins is before silent hill part one, you probability know that by now,
i mean all the silent hill characters are disconnected except "SH" 3,
sure you see "herny" name in "SH"2, or in "SH" 4 you find the killer
from "SH"2 who murder the two children....etc,etc,etc....

it does not tell you everything everything i mean everything,
but you may be right aobut homecoming that is a prequel to real "SH" 5...

yes all characters are disconnected except Heather, but all characters also come to Slent Hill with certain reason...
Henry cuz of Cheryl, James cuz of his darkened past (which is alsomentioned that silent hill attracts those that have stained hearts), etc etc etc...

while Travis comes to silent hill while driving and... he just gets there byy accident - they never conncted him to Cheryl or anyone except by him saving her - which is pretty... un-silent hillish

and I said that SH Homecoming might be prequel to SH6 and not SH5 :p since Homecoming already is SH5 (V)

His mother was hospitalized there and his father committed suicide there as well.

For those who have not played Origins, there are spoilers ahead. Read and your own risk and don't fuss at me if you didn't want to know because you've been warned.

I always felt Travis was connected to the story by reason of circumstances. Alessa chose him because he would be able to relate to her; they were both abused children with insane mothers and basically absent fathers. Travis' father may have been there phsyically, but he was hardly there emotionally for his son, which is why the man thought nothing of killing himself.

Since Travis had his own angst with which to deal, it made him open to Alessa's use as a conduit. She was able to help him reach his own resolution while she used him to help her set her own plans into motion. While Travis might not have been directly related to the original story, the original story was left open to speculation when it comes to just how Alessa managed to get the first baby out of Silent Hill. I liked the addition of the Travis character, and while Origins wasn't my favorite game by a long shot, it does have some good points.

Before your going to check this thread you may be wondering
why is it talking mostly about the new game release called
" Silent Hill: Shattered Memories"

This thread was first made for all silent hill fans that theres going to be a new silent hill title coming in fall and if you heard about it, i really hope your looking forward to it....

"Now" i've decided to re-make it to a "official thread" for all silent fans out there
who can finally share their gaming experience with you're favorite silent hill series
like music composer "akira yamaoka",character origins, the ware abouts of silent hill!

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a complete remake of the very first one of game saga.

The only part that really bothering me is that Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
is coming on the Nintendo Wii.....i mean seriously? the wii? i mean why???
But no worrys its coming for PS2,and PSP, so its not a total lost...

But anyways, look on the bright side the game itself looks great...

Travis is a trouble man who had many countless nightmares about monsters and the town of silent hill.
while driving in latest hour of night time, A little girl (Alessa's from the first silent hill) crosses the road causing him to lose control and crash and wonders to see if she okay from getting hurt.
Later travis founds a burning house and wents to see if anyone is still alive and founds the missing girl all burn all over her body and saves her, when travis trys to find help for the little girl. Later he founds him self lost in silent hill and thats when all chaos started.

and knew she had to find the way to stay alive and escape once again, while trying to escape from the unknown creatures, on her way she saw a women dress in a dark robes named "Claudia" she said to heather that all the so called monsters
"They've come to witness the beginning the rebirth of paradise, despoiled by mankind."
Heather is in the complete disturbing world of complete confusion.
They say that heather can safe or change the world or maybe destroy the world it self.
All she know that she going to the world of complete chaos...
