TBH, I'd think it be more interesting with limited weapons, like the first Silent Hill.

Shattered Memories looks pretty cool compared to The Room, Origins, and Homecoming. I can't wait for it!

OK The Room I understand Homecoming i haven't played but whats from with Origins I liked it everyone seems to b***h about that more then the Room and it out of all the silent hill games sucked

what happens is that ppl does not know whats going on the story....

well guess what? no weapons...so they say....is all about running and hiding like a little coward.
but they are not 100% sure that they will do that, so i think at least put a lead pipe or who knows

meaning, that almost everything from the first game has been changed

yes i keep hearing about that...is just they don't want to admitted that it is a remake of the game.

Shattered Memories resembles the first game about as much as the movie resembles the first game. Same town, same characters (mostly), same beginning, then the plot begins to deviate till it's barely recognizable.

So it's hard to call it a traditional remake. Even the gameplay is totally different. No combat, cell phone, aiming flashlight, etc.

The creatures of Shattered Memories aren't going to be based off of Alessa's nightmares, like they were with the original. Instead, they will be based off of your personality traits and style of gameplay.

This means that you may be up against a set of monsters entirely different than the type of creatures your friend may run into during his play through the game.

The creatures will further develop as the game gets to know more about you.

However, we've only seen one type of monster so far, and it seems to be the first enemy you will run into regardless of who is playing.

These aren't "new levels with new characters" it's a new game that uses the very basic premise of the original game, told in a very different way, most likely resulting in an extremely different story.

That should be sufficient evidence, aside from the developers stating it outright, that this is not in any way a remake & it should not be viewed as such.

The original game will tell you what happened in the story. The Book of Lost Memories will tell you what's going on with Silent Hill. Shattered Memories.. will not. Shattered Memories will tell us what Climax would do if they had.. come up with the series instead. Or whatever the hell they want to do because this game is not bound by anything else in the rest of the series.

Silent Hill 4: The Room fared better than Silent Hill: Homecoming & Origins just barely beat it. It's by no means a bad game; if the repeated levels were removed & the ghosts were tweaked a bit I think it would have had dramatically better reception; the story and art direction were just incredible.
