On the subject of Shattered Memories, it was a simple re-imagining.
In all honesty, SM was more realistic.
Harry couldn't have the same personality they gave him in SM if he was a bad-a** ********, who could shoot rawshock from twenty clicks.

They refused to give us weapons, so he could have a timid personality out-of-nightmares.
A timid person like Harry wouldn't pick up a gun/pipe/whatever and start shooting, killing everything in his path.
Harry would run.
So, he did.

Furthermore, I think they intended it to add to the fear factor. The lack of weapons, I mean.
Unfortunately, since ice signaled anything dangerous, anything thawed served as a reprise, thus removing much of the uncertainty the other games brought us...
Nevertheless, I still jumped when Cheryl's shadow-self popped out multiple times at the High School.

Scary s**t is scary.

Also, I'm uber excited for the new Silent Hill,
But I've been lazy, and haven't researched much. Do we have a release date?
