Announced - WoW's Next Expansion: Cataclysm!
August 21, 2009

Unveiled today was the dramatic announcement of the next massive expansion to enter the WoW universe: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

From the site:
An ancient evil lies dormant within Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane.

Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth and biding his time until he can reforge the world in molten fire.

Soon, Deathwing the Destroyer will return to Azeroth, and his eruption from Deepholm will sunder the world, leaving a festering wound across the continents. As the Horde and Alliance race to the epicenter of the cataclysm, the kingdoms of Azeroth will witness seismic shifts in power, the kindling of a war of the elements, and the emergence of unlikely heroes who will rise up to protect their scarred and broken world from utter devastation.

The Horde: Goblins
The Alliance: Worgen

Announced Features:
Two New Playable Races
Adventure as one of two new races--the cursed worgen with the Alliance or the resourceful goblins with the Horde.

Level Cap Increased to 85
Earn new abilities, tap into new talents, and progress through the path system, a new way for players to improve characters.

Classic Zones Remade
Familiar zones across the original continents of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms have been altered forever and updated with new content, from the devastated Badlands to the broken Barrens, which has been sundered in two.

New High-Level Zones
Explore newly opened parts of the world, including Uldum, Grim Batol, and the great Sunken City of Vashj'ir beneath the sea.

More Raid Content than Ever Before
Enjoy more high-level raid content than previous expansions, with optional more challenging versions of all encounters.

New Race and Class Combinations
Explore Azeroth as a gnome priest, blood elf warrior, or one of the other never-before-available race and class combinations.

Guild Advancement
Progress as a guild to earn guild levels and guild achievements.

New PvP Zone & Rated Battlegrounds
Take on PvP objectives and daily quests on Tol Barad Island, a new Wintergrasp-like zone, and wage war in all-new rated Battlegrounds.

Archaeology
Master a new secondary profession to unearth valuable artifacts and earn unique rewards.

Flying Mounts in Azeroth
Explore Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms like never before.

Call of the Crusade Now Live!

From the WoW website:
Call of the Crusade, the new World of Warcraft content update, is now live! Under thundering skies, Argent Tournament participants have honed the arts of war and faced off in bone-shattering jousting matches to earn the right to be called champions. But these heroes have yet to face the greatest challenge of all: the Crusaders' Coliseum, an all-new level-80 raid dungeon available in both normal and more challenging Heroic versions for both 10 and 25 players. Call of the Crusade also introduces the new Isle of Conquest Battleground, the ability to gain experience points in Battlegrounds, new daily quests, and significant changes to class talents and abilities.

Mounts, Tournaments and Raids—Oh My!

MMO Champion has just released the official 3.2 PTR Patch Notes with exciting new changes to the game. Click here for the full release.

Highlights of this patch include:
-Completion of the Crusaders' Coliseum with Normal and Heroic difficulties for both 10 and 25 man.
-Isle of Conquest, the new 40 vs 40 PvP battleground.
-Introduction of the new druid forms
-Changes in gold and level requirements for purchasing mounts (60% at level 20, 100% at level 40, 150% flying at 60 and 280% flying at 70).

"Secrets of Ulduar, the new World of Warcraft content update, is now live! The gates of the mysterious titan stronghold of Ulduar have swung open, granting players access to an all-new level-80 raid dungeon with normal (10-person) and heroic (25-person) versions and optional hard-mode encounters for those seeking an additional challenge. Secrets of Ulduar also includes the new Argent Tournament in Icecrown Citadel, the dual-talent-specialization feature, multiple user-interface upgrades, and some significant changes to class talents and abilities. Be sure to visit your class trainer, as all talent points have been reset."
