He probably could have purposely hid the devil bringer in the sling so nobody would notice that it's a demonically-possessed arm... sweatdrop

But like you asked, it could most likely be for the cutscene because so far, I haven't seen any screens with Nero wearing the sling other than in the opening.

Nero seems cool and all, but I'd much rather have Dante as the one and only character for the game. He NEEDS to be a playable character. Have him be just as important as Nero.

From the way it looks so far, it seems that both Dante and Nero may be playable characters, and if not, just looking at the trailers alone suggests that Dante is a majorly important part of the game as it is. I doubt Capcom would ever think about just "replacing" Dante altogether. I think DMC 4 is meant to show us Dante's story from a different point of view. Up until now we've seen it through Dante's eyes. I think it's cool that we're going to be seeing it through someone else's for a change.
