Vergil will be back, he isn't dead yet even though he should after he blew in the first game. Seems like he lost the fight with the Prince of Darkness or whatever his name is. But as I said Vergil will be back and he better not be Nelo.

Meh, no big loss to me. I personally thought that his story was finished with 3, besides his appearance in 4 wouldn't equate to us playing as him anyway. Also, just because Kobayashi said no Vergil doesn't mean there might not be Nelo Angelo. So hey, even though it's very unlikely, Nelo could make it into the game.

From the lies we've been presented with from the start of the development of DMC4 I'm guessing that Vergil's either going to be in it for sure or they're saying "Oh, VERGIL doesn't come in...but Nelo Angelo does <.< >.> *sniggers at how wonderfully clever he's being*"

And Kinky, post my reply to your PM here. I feel it fits this very well.

To be honest though, Vergil not being in it doesn't kill me too much. If he's not a playable bonus character it'd piss me off. Nelo being in it but no sight of Vergil in human form would also grind my gears (yay! I finally used that term!) because Nelo's nowhere near as interesting as Vergil. Then again, if he gets a DMC3 style makeover for DMC4 he'd probably be a snuggle worthy character.

Lik every one is saying there will be no vergil but there's plenty of time for nelo and all this does for me is make me think about DMC 5 personally I think since DMC 3 vergil has more backstory than even dante himself so why not leave him out of DMC 4 leave your mouths watering for a cutie like vergil and give you his entire stroy line in the fifth edition as the main character I mean I see it as a great business move personally...but then again what do I know sweatdrop

After almost 24 hours of crying, depression, eating ice-creasm and chocolate, and attempting to kill Damaged God with a chainsaw, I think I can calm down now.

Even though I'm really upset about Vergil being confirmed not to appear in DMC4, I'm not really all that surprised.

First of all, we must remember that the true purpose of DMC4 is to bring in new gamers to series. The new DMC4 gamers would most likely had never played DMC3: DA/SE before, so they would't know anything about Vergil or the series storyline.

Also, and I'm going to hate saying this for fear of backlash, Vergil being confirmed to not appear in DMC4 can finally put down to rest those goddamn "Vergil is the Devil Bringer" theories. I hate to be biased, but never did like those theories, especially the "Nero is Vergil" one. I guess it's because I'd rather view Vergil as his own person than to see him again as a Dante-like character (Sorry, Nero!).

But maybe there IS a possiblity of seeing Vergil again in DMC4. In a PM reply from Vergil642:

See where I'm goin' with this smile ? Also, it'd only confirm my suspicion that DMC3 will be the greatest of the DMCs and action gaming's peak for a looong time. Anyway, it's Dante's game and Nero's here to give a bit of variety, it'll be fine without Vergil.

Although with him it'd be perfect...

So maybe there's a slight possibility of seeing Vergil again, but only as Nelo Angelo.

In the end, I should probably calm down, suck it up and move on. After all, the DMC series is all about Dante. Even though I will be missing Vergil so very much, I'd rather not have him at all in the game than to see him as a limb...

I guess it makes sense, since Nelo exploded in DMC 1, at least Dante has something that I don't have(well he has a lot of things I don't), facial hair, I can't grow any at all.
