So the day has arrived, and Halo 3 is finally out!
Was the wait worth it?
You've been chomping at the bit since the beta... Or maybe you skipped it so that nothing could spoil the final product. Maybe you're one of the people that forgot about it until now, when everyone's been bombarding the forums with Halo threads so that there's no way you couldn't know?

Like it or not, Halo 3 is here... and a lot of people want to talk about it. This is the place to discuss it.


Did you pre-order? Camp out? Which edition did you get?
Maybe you just went to the store and grabbed it whenever it was convenient. Or perhaps you're still waiting?

I generally am unimpressed by Halo in general, and only play it because my friends do, but I am very impressed with Halo 3. Having never been impressed by the previous 2, this one, for whatever reason, really did impress me.

Maybe it was the power difference between the X-box and the 360, maybe it was that the game was just a better game, or maybe it was something else but...I really enjoyed this game.

The Forge, as a play option, **WILL** increase playability for a long while. Though I haven't actually played it yet, it sounds very fun!

Anyhow, I've only gotten to play a pre-release kiosk demo (Which was quite nice.) , I would certainly get it if the 360 wasn't so faulty... (Red-ringed on the 26th... One day before Halo 3...)

I've been a supporter of the series and, while defiantly not the best game ever, the third game set a new bar for the series in general. The story isn't great, but the online features make it's replayability almost infinitesimal. The character customization adds a nice level of personality to each person. The changes from the first, second and indeed the beta definitely show. I would've liked to see more storywise, but I can always read the novels for more of that.

I am actually working on getting myself an XBOX 360 and Halo 3 when I start working... and I will divert my attention into that game for portions of hours here and there. I am buying the most expensive Halo 3 because I want to show my love. Too bad you can't wear that damned helmet... crying

I'll be playing it when I finally get back to Virginia from my week break from school.

Though I was happy that I called off from work this week. Didn't have to deal with the mass of Halo fanwanks at GameStop.

Anyway... how does everyone like that game? I can't wait to play it... and I was so shocked to see the full game in FYE a couple of days ago. I played for four hours standing up on heroic. Got to the big scarab and said "******** this."

I couldn't kill it whatsoever!

I'm not blown away by it. (Despite running around the day it came out yelling "ZOMG teh Haloz!" wink

But really I am a huge fan of the series, and the Fiction in general.

As far as the game goes, it IS a damn good game. Very solid, they got a good system, pretty clean and stuck with it.

The only negative thing I would have to say about it is that it feels almost like you're still playing Halo 2. (Yes, I am aware of the improved Graphics and Equipment and new weapons. It just still had that same feel.)

However having the same "feel" as Halo 2 isn't necessarily bad. because Halo 2 was ******** FUN. Not only that but it remains fun four years past it's release.

So like I said, it didn't blow me away, it didn't revolutionize anything in the industry from what I can tell.


But it doesn't have to. It's Halo. I loved every bit of it.



The Halo series to me seems like a very solid well built one.

If you desired you could go play the edgier games, like Gears of War, or Bioshock.
But (while those other two games are awesome) I can almost guaranty that the Well Rounded Gamer, will come back to Halo, years and years from it's release.

Halo 3 = Exactly what I needed. No more, no less, it's very satisfying in my opinion.

Yeah they tell you how to kill the scarab and its not that hard once you get used to it.

OK i have been through halo 3 campaign a few times and as i am doing this my 2 roomies are playing ledgendary for the first time with the b-day party skull o ^_~ we are confused on IWHBYD skull crying
