About foreign words sounding "funny" to English speakers, those are called homophones. It makes for fun reading from poems to Dr. Suess stories. I'm sure other cultures have them too.

But the fact that I couldn't get anything out of a German lecture in the beginning of my studies due to my fellow students cracking up laughing at "d**k" meaning "Big", I've always been angered by such an occurance.
