Because, they actually help people. Maybe if people learned that their lives didn't suck and their not the wimps that everyone thought they were, they would be better off...
*Facepalm* Dude.....Books would not help the situation. You'd truly have to of been in this situation to understand.

So in the end, if people treat people better, we could possibly avoid disasters like school shootings. Problem is, how to reform society without anything going into mass hysteria and everything going down in flames?
I'm pretty sure we're heading down that patrh as it is anyways.....

Blame the media, once people who don't know anything about games see that they can be as violent as crimes committed on the news, the shock often sends them pointing fingers at the wrong people before they learn anything about anything. And for that I also partially blame the ignorant masses. Someone has taken the value of education and labeled it as just another prerequisite to get a job and pay for things.
Nah, i blame it on the secret organization, whether it be media or government that try to link any violent acts, especially those done by students, to violent video games.

As soon as they do that, they know they've hit two birds with one stone.

1. They've hit Video games for more damge, making their "Playing outside and studying is better" argument stronger to the overprotective parents

2. They take the lazy way out blaming it on Violent games, instead of admiting that the whole thing could of probably been avoided if people stopped treating the soon-to-be-killer (or in this case, the now-a-killer) like s**t and got him the much needed mental help he needed.

I'm not happy about the way the whole Virginia Tech thing panned out either. That kid was seriously screwed up, and his family knew it from the start. It wasn't even an issue (much) of the stereotypical "all the kids pick on me so I'm gonna take a gun and make them pay!" thing. People should never place the blame for school shootings on anyone but the people who were in direct contact with the person and still did nothing to prevent it (i.e. counseling)

On a side note, what do you play? I think it may give insight to your perspective.
Hmmm....your right.

Uh lol.....nothing insanely violent.....or really all that violent at all. I have a Wii, so most of my games are non-violent. Though i'm looking at getting No More Heroes when its released here.....is that violent enough for this thread or do i have to leave?

Personally I dont like the Wii, no offence to you, its only because the controllers are... well.. weird. And their recent games that I've seen on TV kinda suck. It seems they got more child friendly and left our all the good nintendo games. I hate X-Box for the same reason. X-box is focused all on adults and no one else. But I would still choose the Wii over all the new systems.... ok, now brb.
Yeah, i hate the PS3, because i think it looks like a giant mutant sandwich maker.....and its Sony. And the thing keeping me away from the 360 is all the "Ring of death" and "Had it a month and it destroyed an $100 game and broke. They fixed the Xbox, but never refunded for the game" stories i hear from previous Xbox owners.

X-Box has been having alot of issues and should be called the PaperWeight-Box. The PS3 font for its name is exactly the same as for spiderman... which I dislike. It makes me suspicious. Also, the fact that Playstation threw away Crash Bandacoot as their mascot and icon as quickly as they did makes me think that they really dont have the same original concept that nintendo had and they are just being a posuer.

I don't blame them, as soon as Naughty Dog sold Crash Bandicoot away after CTR everything went downhill for that mascot.

Yes but haven't you noticed that it's controlled? Who controls it? Who knows. How do they do it? They control what we watch, what we read, hence what we perceive. Information management.
Hey, Sparkyperson, are you the 2.7% saying no in the pole? XD Just messing with you.

Did anyone ever notice that this forum could be used as a collage project seeing what would happen when throwing a huge topic out there and what the people would do? The people who where on here longer (not necessarily the first or close to first posts) are starting to get a sense of kinship despite their disagreements in the beginning and are coming to a truce because of it, but those who enter later either get ignored or completely shut down like they are the bacteria in a blood vain and the rest of us are white blood cells? I find it interesting. Sparkyperson started as an enemy for me and now its almost like we are coming to a truce because we both think X-Box sucks, if that isn't to far to say.

There are still Crash games but, they just are not the same. I also miss Sega.

Intelligent conversation can be fun sometimes. College should be an institution whose purpose is to further evolve current knowledge, I'd say it's not really doing that now, but it should, and having intelligent discussions is a way to do that. Most times my brain is just blaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh and I post some random funny shenanigans and I go to bed.

I do however like the XBOX360[I own one], it just needs constant cooling, so put it in a very well ventilated place. Just like any PC would. The PS3 has been having DREs now, and the issue lies with the moving parts in the laser eye elevation.

I know. So George Bush could have possibly rigged this whole ordeal that we are in now, but there is a conspiracy even deeper than that, and yet at the same time very vague. For instance, why is it that all these people we have never seen or heard of are all of a sudden in the poles and all have, basically, the same life style? Wouldn't it make more sense for the American government, originally based on the concept of "By the people From the people For the people", to have some one who is not rich and has actually seen the dirt and shine of the country be president? You know, some one who actually walked from the poverty masses into presidency rather than some one who is rich and has some power skip into presidency?

For the college thing I meant an experiment report like the old ones that are now "inhumain" which, they were. Like getting eight people, nine of them are the police and the other nine are the culprits and are in "jail". After awhile they are treated as thus and very poorly. Then they switch it around where the nine prisoners become the police and s**t goes down, WAY down.

They had the ventilation problem with the first playstation. But X-Box 360 has had experienced random red dots on the screen.
