Welcome to Gaia! ::

I was the very first person in line to pick up the very first 3D handheld available, the 3DS, on launch date. I bought the 3DS, Street Fighter 3D, and a case. It totaled to well over $300.
At first I was astounded with the visuals and the 3D capabilities, but then after a while it wasn't so amazing. The 3D effect on me didn't last long. I was fed up with the launch line-up and I had months before a good game was to come out. Then....the price drop. I felt like I had boarded a sinking ship. I had all this excitement and saved up all of this money...for a failing console.

After realizing what was happening, I put my 3DS and everything that I had gotten with it on craigslist for $120 and sold it. What a waste. crying

But that was then and this is now. The 3DS didn't die as I thought it would have. It's still kicking, in fact, it has many solid titles and much more are coming out in the future.

Not sure what my next move will be.
I guess the question that I am asking is...is the 3DS worth re-buying?
Wh-what?

I didn't know people actually bought and sold things like this.

WELL. If you have the money there's no harm in it, as long as you don't think you're going to sell it right away again.

That or you can wait until there's a couple games you really want to play.

I would say so. If you really want to, try getting one used, that has Ambassador status. 20 free games, many of which are awesome. And the lineup of games for the 3DS just keeps getting better and better.
You probably would have gotten more money for it if you had just returned it/traded it in at the store you purchased it. As for whether it's worth buying back, that's entirely up to you. If you think it's going to have enough titles coming out to make it worth it, then it might be a good idea. But if you think you won't use it too much, maybe not. I enjoy the hell out of mine, but I've always been a handheld lover.

I sell things all the time, and make lots of money doing it. If someone wants something, they are going to look for the cheapest possible way of getting it, and used is the way to go.

I am mainly interested in the Resident Evil games, Mario games, starfox 3D, and Zelda stuff. None of this was available for months when I had first gotten a 3DS....

Id probably get one off of Craigslist XD Id say I could find one for $100 easy, and with extras. I know the 3DS has a future, and I do want one again but with my luck, they will come out with a DS Light or a 3DS XL after I buy one...
I'd say wait a few months until E3. See what Nintendo announces. There's a good chance a 3DS Lite will come out.

I bought it from Gamestop, and if the product is opened, they won't take it. If I was to sell it to them, they would only give my $80 to $100 for it at the time.
My only worry about all of the good games that exist and are being released for the 3DS is the price...
Im still not used to handheld games being $40+ a pop. Thats what I like about the regular DS. Most games for that are cheap as dirt smile

Huh. I thought they would give you more for it than that. As for games, all of the new DS games I ever bought were around $40 unless I bought them used. So I've become used to assuming that they're going to be $40.
you are terrible with money.

just stop.

I agree, but Id rather have a 3DS XL. I always thought the screens on the 3DS were a tad small...but maybe thats because I had a DSi XL once. That thing was awesome.

When I had a DS, the games when released were $30, unless they were pokemon, mario, zelda, or final fantasy games. They were always $40 upon release.

I wouldn't count on them coming out with a new one so soon. It's just starting to pick up, and show that it has potential. They'd be dumb to put a new version out so soon.
And as for the 3D, you said it wasn't too impressive. The first few games out had nothing impressive but games like Mario kart 7 and Ocarina of Time have astounding 3D.

I don't see an XL coming out. At least I hope they don't come out with one.
