Welcome to Gaia! ::

Dig up System Shock 2, it's about 7 years old and it was made by the same guys. It plays actually almost identical and it's one of the creepiest games out there.
I've heard of that, Gameinformer did a story on it a little while ago
I knew you were going to say that as I read the thread title.

I visited 2k Boston and saw a bunch of System Shock 2 images for inspiration on the walls biggrin

But I agree. The creepiness and magnitude the game possessed was simply amazing. I am glad that Bioshock is the spiritual sequel to it smile
Amen, unfortunately none of my copies work on my comp becuase of the way newer video cards are.

Sucks.'

I really love that game too,

It's so creepy dealing with Shodan, yet strangely hot.

Google it or go to Gamespot.com. Maybe there are some drivers you need to install.

Had to go into some of the files and change a few things... and it works for the most part- but mine loves to randomly freeze up within anywhere of 3 to 15 minutes still after doing all the fun stuff to it. But then again, it's worth getting an older computer for it... or reinstalling my old video card as a dual thingy.
The problems SS2 has with modern hardware usually has to do with CPUs, not graphics cards.

Open the game, then minimize and bring up the task manager. Go to the "processes" tab and right click the "shock2.exe" and hit "set affinity" then uncheck one of the 2+ boxes that come up on the menu. If you don't have a set affinity option don't worry, SS2 will run fine (probably, if not, look up the compatibility guide here : http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69958

Huh.... Interesting. Didn't try that one. That would explain after I fixed the video card problem (It reported usages of textures differently)

Thanks. Heheh

No problem. Now if only someone could find a way to make co-op work reliably.
Yeah BioShock is the spiritual successor to System Shock. And what a hell of a job they did..
