You use an Ethernet cable. There's what looks like a phone jack in the back of the Xbox systems that you plug the cable into.

If you're going to do more than 2 systems, you'll need a router to plug them all into.
You need a cat5 cable or a network cable.

Walmart and such has them too.

You need an Ethernet/Cat 5 cable.
You can find it anywhere, even Walgreens.

They're a specialty store. They'll most likely over charge you for the cables. Try someplace closer with lower prices.

If you are doing XBOX to XBOX, you're going to need a crossover cable.

On the outside they look just like any other Cat5 cable, but the wires are crossed so that data between 2 machines, like the original XBOX, can be sent back and forth without the need of a router or hub.

Really? Crossover? In this day and age, what NIC doesn't automatically translate over a straight cat5?

The original XBOX didn't, as far as I can remember.

I always had to use a hub or a router because we never had a crossover cable.
