Halo. Better story, for sure, and in my opinion better looking, but where it shines is multiplayer.
I mean where else can you laser a banshee out of the sky whose wreckage kills the sniper across the map about to kill you? Can't do that in CoD, all you do is run and shoot.

Halo because:

1. You can customize your character to your favorite color, and in Reach, their physical appearance.
2. Everyone is on a level playing field. Each player starts with the same weapons meaning that nobody has an advantage of someone else. No perks or crazy s**t to gain a level up.
3. No quick scoping/auto aim. While Halo has some auto aim to help you track your targets, it won't target your enemies head for you. Players have to actually aim to kill their foes.

From a multiplayer standpoint it depends on my mood. For some pick up and play quick action I prefer cod but for longer games when I have time to spare I choose halo.
