There's always the possibility Halo 3 links up with Marathon. So no, you don't "know".

Theres going to be another installment in the Halo series, basically to many, Halo 4.
No, it wont be about John. Switching Trilogies basically.

Spoiler much? I never played Halo 3, or the other Halo games for that matter. I just watched my brother play them because I suck at them, but I never seen the ending movie for Halo 3. So yeah, thanks for ruining it for me.

Bungie isn't part of Microsoft anymore, so no, they can't "milk" the franchise unless Bungie feels like it.

I'm going to get a mix of hate mail for this, but if they really wanted to have some fun with the Halo franchise, why not make Halo 1.5; where they revisit the first Halo game, but from the Arbiter's viewpoint where he has to hunt down the "demon" but he never finds him until it's too late, and has to evacuate!

Well he was a general before his mark and his role as the Arbiter so I am guessing most of his experience during Installation 04 was not field based, more on moving the units.

I thought Bungie announced that Marathon and Halo weren't related?

Halo was a trilogy... Trilogy is 3. They've got other games which don't extend the series as such (Halo Wars and ODST) but Halo was a trilogy. There may be other games after it, but they won't be linked as such.

So a Halo 4? Probably not... But a fourth Halo, yeah, I don't see why not.
