As all seven? Well that' tough sense I lik IMOQ almost the same while my opinion changes on and off about G.U.

Let's see:
For .Hack
Infection-4
Mutation-3
Outbreak-3
Quarantine-4

For //G.U.

Rebirth-3
Reminiseince-3
Redemption-4

My favorite would have to be a cross between .Hack//Infection, and .Hack//G.U.:Rebirth.

Reason? They both contain copious amounts of Kite (lol). On a serious note though, I like both Kite and Azure Kite as characters and oddly enough their characters are best portrayed in the first and last games. However, It's their first appearences that grab me they...speak. In //Infection Kite is thrown into the role of the 'hero' and you're barely 10 minutes into the game. While in //Rebirth, Azure Kite is just. Plain. Awsome. Not to mention it's kind of funny to fight a boss that barely moves and still manages to almost kill you.

Aside from that, the beginning of any story marks whether or not you'll like the rest of it, espcially when you're talking about multiple games.

Over all - 9/10

The first four games were good, but since I always play them back-to-back, I tend to get a little bored by the time I'm through. I absolutely HATED that hunting for virus cores thing, for gate hacking. Even when I went completely data drain happy while I was leveling, I ALWAYS needed to go back and get at least one core I missed. This was especially annoying when I had gotten to be about twenty levels higher then I was supposed to be at that point in the game, because it was a pain in the a** to get the cores when you kill everything in one or two hits.

I never really got bored playing GU, except when I was hunting down that stupid mecha-grunty, and a little near the end of the Forest of Pain because that was just to easy. I wasn't a huge fan of the dungeons, but the usual fun of combat more then made up for it. Now, GU did have some shortcomings, but I think it was more immerseive over all then the original games were. My biggest complaint is getting xth form so late. I loved that form, and the dash thing, although I hated that the most powerful guns for it looked like Hasseo blew his nose to hard, and you got them for beating the Forest of Pain, when their wasn't actually anything left to do in the game. I hate that, when you go through some supposedly awesome, amazing struggle only to get an item you don't have any real use or anymore. I was also annoyed that Ticking Death wasn't the most powerful scythe, after everything I went through to get it fully upgraded.

I know this is coming out of left field, but //LINK is beginning to annoy me. I mean, there hasn't been much meaningful information on it as of late, but what was just added is annoying.

There's another villian, but there's no info on him...her...it...I don't know...

On top of that, there's now supposed to be info on Silabus's english VA. I'm not joking check his profile on the dot hack//wiki. It says TBA(to be announced) on his english VA.

Why, just why. There's no info or even a hint of info on Tokio, Kite, Haseo, or Tsukasa! On top of that it's not even out yet!

Bloody hell, what's up with this series?!

Is it just me or is the //G.U. character roster for //LINK too large? So far about 12+ characters have been listed and only about 8 of them are even worth it; in my opinion these are the eight:

Haseo, Atoli, Alkaid, Azure Kite, Ovan, and Shino. I'm not counting Endrance 'cause Elk is in the game and it's implied that he's in the same boat as Haseo, so he'll probably change characters after he gets his memories back.

Maybe it's just me, but it really seems like the //G.U. cast is too big.

I must be one of the few huge fans of BlackRose. rofl I can't help it. Skimpy warrior girls = freakin' hot. Her hair color and skin tone make a nice contrast, so I like her more than Mimiru. I'm also only considering getting a PSP and //Link because her and Kite are in it, haha.

But as for the other games, I haven't played G.U. but I've watched my cousin play it. The battle system seems cool, but the story kinda confused me. So I still prefer IMOQ. Easier for me to follow, and has more interesting characters in it.

lots of the characters everyone is listing i don't know. I only know the characters from legend of the twilight and sign. Shame on me. I'll have to research the other .hack series when i get the time.

Don't count me out! BlackRose was one of the reasons I kept playing the first games. She's a really interesting character and one of the few video game females that aren't annoying and whiny. Not to mention she looks freaking awsome!

Don't worry, //G.U. confused a lot of people, then again, it's story is a bit shallow and (in the case of the games) the closer you reach the end, the more it rips off IMOQ. On top of that a good chunk of the characters needed more personality (then again Azure Kite is my favorite character, so....yeah).I would suggest reading //G.U.+, the manga. It makes more sense and the end is much more satisfying. The characters are pretty much the same though.

Yay! I got it to work! And I got to admit it's fun. Though the swatting monsters back and forth thing is a lot faster than it looks. In fact, the game looks a LOT slower on youtube.

Playing with Haseo is difficult; his CPU is over aggressive, sometimes it's hard to keep up. Other than that, I don't really have much to complain about. I really hope this game makes it to America.

And now I gotta ask:

Does anyone think that you'll be able to form a party with Azure Kite in the game?

Why does Haseo blush at the end of the Cross-Rengeki?

Why does Kite make the Tri-Edge symbol in his Cross-Rengeki?

Ahh, .hack//... So many fond memories.

IMOQ is what kept me going through high school. Lol. :3 Kite was such an awesome hero. So inept and flustered at first, but eventually pulling through and becoming the badass we all knew he could be.

Though, honestly, my favorite character from IMOQ would have to be either BlackRose or...
