I played all three G.U. games.

IMOQ seems to be so hard to find nowadays, so I haven't played those.


I went through a phase of extreme .hack fandom, it's over now but I still like the franchise as a whole. A pity that if it were to be a real MMO, the field system (and lack of other game content) would probably make it unsuccessful though.

Reki's japanese voice in the Twilight Bracelet anime is really hot. x3

My favorite .hack series are .Hack//SIGN, and the first four games. I would rather forget //Legend Of Twilight existed.

//G.U. had a decent plotline that was simply not carried out well. The ending for the games was comletely different from the manga, and to be honest, the manga's ending made more sense. The game's ending was choppy and rushed. //ROOTS had too many plotholes, you already knew how it was going to end and with the exception of Haseo, the designs were ugly.

And now there is .Hack//LINK, a fanservice addition with no descernable plot whatsoever. CC Corp says that it's gonig to be BIG but I'm not sure. The character designs are all right, but inconsistent with what fans are used to.

The game's plotline is supposed to flow differently than the manga, and I hope it does, cause the current plot isn't working. On a good note though, the gameplay looks good and it's animated well (can't say much for looks though).

Well, that's my take.

Oh and my favorite characters are:

Alkaid

Haseo's okay, but his oppening personality makes you want to push into something sharp.

And Ouka was too good for //Legend of Twilight

I do have to admit I don't like shugo and rena from legend of the twilight and there wasn't much to the ending. But it did have some good characters in it.

Does anyone else think it's anoying that they reuse the avatars from other .hack series and give them different names and personalities?

I don't find it overwelmingly annoying as long as there is some similarity between the two. One 'transition' ?I can't stand or understand is Elk/Endrance, it's supposed to be one guy (Kaoru Ichinose) as both of them, however, there are only about three things that really show it.

at first i was like "saw it coming rolleyes " at its announcement
then i was like "thats... pretty cool eek " when i found out about damn near every .hack character making an appearance in it
then i was like "OMG AMAZING!! " finding about it supports multiplayer and after watching the trailer
now im like "...really? neutral "

theyre gonna game to add something else for it to regain its "OMG ******** AWESOME!!!!" factor.
