Games getting a second chance

[New Years Eve]

So I was looking through news articles on about a dozen or so game websites (i know, desperate for news much?) and found out that a game I missed out on for the DS (Ghost Trick) had just been added to IOS for sale.

This kinda made my day because I missed out on it when it first came out for the DS (all the stores where I live didn't stock it), and I know it's a really good game (look up any game site's review of it, seriously) that simply wasn't hyped enough so people would know about it. Hopefully if it does well enough in digital release form maybe Capcom will release it in the 3ds eshop.



So how about you guys, do you know of any neglected games that got a second chance either via remake on a newer console or as a downloadable game rerelease?

Personally I'd like to see Shantae (originally for GBC) to get this treatment someday. It came out a year after the GBA was released, so no one was especially interested in a GBC game at that point. sad

Tales of the Abyss is getting a second chance.
I never played the ps2 version so I'm glad I'll be able to play the enhanced port of the 3ds version.

There is, in fact, a shantae game on the DSi/3DS e-shop, titled "Risky's Revenge".


As for a game I'd love to see get another chance...I honestly can't think of anything that hasn't already been said (Mirror's Edge).

As for a game I'd love to see get another chance...I honestly can't think of anything that hasn't already been said (Mirror's Edge).

Risky's Revenge is the sequel to the GBC Shantae game, not a remake of it. sad

In most of the world anyways, in Japan it already got a second chance (it was remade for the GBA around 2006). But so far the GBA Earthbound/Mother games are still only available in Japan.

That was a sequel, not a remake.

It did borrow some locations and designs from a scrapped GBA sequel wayforward tried to make years ago though. But they were never able to get someone to publish that game.

By the way, Wayforward (the maker of Shantae and Shantae Ricky's Revenge) is currently in talks with Nintendo about releasing the original Shantae game as a 3ds virtual console game.

So it looks like New Years Eve may just get her wish after all.

Although it technically already got a second chance I would like Skies of Arcadia to be re-rereleased.

I missed it on both the dreamcast and the gamecube. sweatdrop
