first of... how the hell would Link extract the shukaku. second, Gaara isn't exactly going to stand still and let him extract it. and 3rd how would Link do all this with sand chasing him

#1 The triforce has the power of light. IT took out many evil beings. This would be no problem. #2OF course he's not going to stay still. HE will put up a fight but links been through many battles and has had the feeling of hurt.(bloodshed) Gaara has not.#3Gaara's sand isn't all that fast. It can be easy to evade. The only reason rock lee didn't evade all of it was because he was worn out.

If you wan't to see the speed of gaara's sand I suggest you look further past the episodes on toonami and watch his battle in shippuden, battle with the bone tribe guy or in the filler episode

Well, actually, Link has other abilities that would allow him the luxury, or even time to play the ocarina. First off, its has a magical property of freezing time whenever it is played.

Secondly, Link could use fire/ice/light/deku nuts/etc as a distraction, or even naryu's love to hold off until he could actually play the song.

So, in conclusion, yes, I think Link could get a song done with, and do some damage to Gaara, but I don't think that Link would win this fight.

I've played WW, and Link calls on no such light power. He calls on the winds (being the "wind waker" after all) to transport his ship (with the wind god's power, of course); however, we do not know if the wind god would even answer WW Link's calls in this battlefield.
