But I have absolutely no idea what games are good or what to play.

So, you seasoned or not so seasoned gamers out there, what are your favorites?

It really depends what you're into.

If you want cheap RPG games you can go with prrretty much anything from Square Enix. Infinite Undiscovery is super fun.
NieR is also a good game.

Or if you're more into FPS there's always Halo, Vanquish, and L4D/L4D2.

If you like RPGS i highly suggest getting Star Ocean The Last Hope. Other then that I also suggest Skyrim, Assassins Creed 1/2/brotherhood/revelations, Dark Souls, Devil May Cry 4, Nier, and Tales of Vesperia.

I highly recomend to buy pre-owned games at Gamestop and test them out if you like the game then keep it or buy a new copy.(Some games can not be played in multi player unless you have an online pass for them)

For first person shooters: Halo Reach, Modern Warfare 2 or 3, Homefront, Battlefield 2 bad company.

For rpgs: Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1-3(third one requires online pass for online play) Resonance of Fate, Magna Carta 2, Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean:The Last Hope, Dragon Age, Dragon's Dogma.

Figthing:Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Dead or Alive 5, King of Fighters.
Misc: Dance Dance Revolution Universe 1-3, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Magic 2013, The Walking Dead.

I can keep going but it will take too long.

I highly reccomend playing one of the first games made for xbox.
It's called Kameo: Elements of Power. It's a great fantasy-adventure game with a good story. And since it's old it'll be around like..two dollars. ^ ^

The second one is Bullet Witch. It's a shooter game with fantasy and apocalyptic stuff and whatnot. Really good. I think it's based off of a comic by marvel. That one is old as well so it'll probably be like five to ten dollars.

Others you should go for is:
Dead Space 1 & 2
Assassins Creed (All of them)
Fallout (Any one of them or all of them)
Skyrim (A MUST, but it's still expensive right now)

Depends on what you're looking for.

If it says Gearbox, Atlas, Square or BioWare, go for it.

If it says Star Ocean or Lost Odyssey, go for it.

If it says Call of Duty, and you don't like shooters (or just don't want to mess with xbox live), stay away.

That's... about all I got. As mentioned before, The Impossible Game is a very fun Indie game, as is Molly the Were-Zompire.
