I played a Royalty in Demon's Souls so I'm really used to just mashing one button and dominating every enemy/boss with Soul Arrow, haha. I thought as the Sorcerer, despite no longer having mana and being granted a limited amount of casts, would still give me an edge over the other classes. I was wrong, apparently.

Warrior class all the way. I built my stats up to use the Greatsword of Artorias, which requires 24 Str, 18 Dex, 18 Int. and 18 Faith. With those stats I can use a good amount of sorcery, pyromancy and miracles.

That's what I can't fathom. Why did they split sorcery & pyromancy? It's not exactly like it adds variety.

I too was wondering why they split it into three magics. The setup was fine in Demon's Souls, with sorcery vs. miracles. I don't know why they changed it, but I suppose pyromancy is a chaotic branch of magic, so they figured it must be a separate magic.

I would actually argue that all magic is inherently chaotic. That said, would you recommend the Sorcerer or the Pyromancer? In the beginning, anyways. Until I have a firmer grasp on the new mechanics behind this game.

I would say Pyromancer, start with higher Vitality and defense for early play.

Now if only I could figure out which stats are most important. I've always been terrible at anything involving numbers. Or it's because I'm really lazy and don't feel like putting forth that much effort.

Well pyromancy doesn't require intelligence, so if you chose that you'd leave Int. alone (unless you want to use sorcery). Boost up Vitality, Attunement, Strength and Endurance. It'll be cheap to boost early stats since you start from level 1.

Ah yes, I remember reading that as well. Endurance boosts Stamina, right? I have to question your suggestion to increase Strength. Is it absolutely vital? Though I'm fairly certain I know what Vitality and Attunement raise.

The only reason I say Strength is if you feel like adding a bit of melee to your battle tactics. It's not always vital, depends on how you want to build your character.
Yep, Endurance builds stamina, and equipment load, allowing you to carry heavier stuff.

Heh. Games used to be so simple but now they've got a billion stats and the only one I ever know anything about is Intelligence, ironically so. Is it possible to go full spellcaster? I really loathe the mere notion of going melee unless I'm using the Thief or occasionally if I use the Hunter (though I prefer bows with him).

[Common Error]

First time I found out about the dragon in the undead burg, I was like confused . Then charging out to try to fight it and getting scorched by it the first time, priceless. Then the next time I charged at it and got hit by its tail, falling off the bridge, priceless. Getting revenge on that god forsaken tail, only to find out it drops an epic sword, priceless. Sword nearly breaking when going ape s**t with the ground pound-y thing, awful. Dragon flying behind me after walking to far back up the bridge (cause I just ran passed it) after sword nearly broke, priceless. Getting killed by the Capra demon over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and then by the monsters before the boss' room, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, then killing him while simultaneously getting killed by it only to find out that it dying counted even though I died, priceless. Dying on my way back to my corpse to get the souls the Capra dropped, most frustrating experience so far.

Oh i remember running through blighttown, everything being pretty easy to this point, then dieing over, and over, and over again. then i eventually made it to the boss, and died one hit with my shield up. decided i should level up a few hundred times first. XD
