f**k....
Square-Enix backstabbed Sony..
f**k...

They'd rather not get financially fucked in the a** anymore.
What, with one year boasting over 7 million more xbox 360s and all, plus a 250% rise in users subscribing to Final Fantasy 11 when it hit 360, I'd say they're smart people. Sony's too butthurt in their Uncharted: Drake's Fortune failures to realize that business is business. Plus the fact that they're basing their entire fall and holiday line up off two fucking games and shitty online service is also brilliant of them. I mean, Kill Zone was fun with it's 65% average review rating and disconnecting every 5 minutes in games online is tolerable. It IS free, after all.

Oh, and at the dipshit who gets their information off Kotaku, go fucking kill yourself. You might as well ask a republican information about a democrat.

I dont agree with kotaku either, especially since it seems to be a third-rate gaming site compared to IGN, gamespot, vgchartz, and i have never even seen it before drinky mentioned it, but telling him to kill himself doesn't really help get your point across ^^;

If it's deliberate, it means they're biased liars.
If it's accidental, it means they're a dipshit.

Mmm.. well all right o.O
And i am unsure how kataku gets some of their information...how do they know average wii owners buy one less game a year?
A small-scale survey perhaps, which if that was the case, Wii and DS pwn their sony counterparts so hard on deviantart...even though you cant tell much from one of those.

Wii and 360 have pretty much the same results, ps3 has about 1/8th the results of wii :/

But like i said, biased or not, i dont trust kotaku at all, especially since it seems like pretty much anyone can make a post there.

You're pretty smart not to.
And numbers don't lie. Wii Sales are far beyond what Sony could dream of in their sleep. And there hasn't been a single decent game on the PSP that wasn't a puzzle game or first party. Ironic.

what about Crisis core, loco roco, lumines? those are a single...oh no, they are three

It's true that DS pretty much beats out psp on terms of the original, and exclusive gaming dept. though, nintendo is the gaming giant right now, they have the strong-arm at the moment.

The handheld market is theirs once more, and it seems they are re-taking the home market, if not just doing better than the shitcube last gen, although i still actually play my GCN, have a s**t cheap memory card i need to erase all data or it wont work on wii, so yeah...screw that.

Also, your comment "you're pretty smart not to" was a bit unclear to me...it is 4am for me, so that might add to why i dont understand it, mind rephrasing?

On this note, all I have to say is Gamers begat Gamers...people tell their kids about game systems in the days of yore and how they were. They also make the decisions of what to get their kids on what can and can't be afforded. Nintendo makes their tech cheap (seeing as they R & D in Japan and not the US - like Sony & Mirosoft). The DS's dominance in sales is based off of franchises (Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Mario Bros., etc.)...were the PSP to have franchises like that, Sony would have the Handheld market cinched up and taken center stage.

On the Backwards-compatability Tech issue, The same could've been said for the PS2 & PSOne (You had to have a PSOne memory card to save any PSOne game data...yet you couldn't put said card back on a PSOne seeing as it was formatted for the PS2.). It's just a hurdle Nintendo has to overcome since they're trying to keep up with current tech (PSOne & Saturn/Dreamcast using CD-ROM while the N64 was using Cartridges). In every advance, there has to be a drawback.

yeh, DS's dominance is from gaming, pure and simple...while it does have some nice media add-ons, they just dont match up to psp, especially the internet browser, despite being much easier to navigate

And oh...i thought it was cause i have a non-licensed GCN memory card xD
thanks for lettin me know dude

Okay, DS's Internet browser is Opera as opposed to whatever the PSP is running...but in all honesty, like the Wii you'll need a wireless USB piece unless you have a WiFi hotspot or Wireless Router (Wii's Setup Manual)...but the internet play isn't what I get a system for, just the games. But you know if Sony had Nintendo's Franchises, Sony'd milk the living sh*t out of it (and believe me, too much Pokemon is a baaaaaaaaad thing).

I had been reading up that tidbit post-launch of the PS2 in the "Buyer Beware" column in GamePro...it seems that licensed or not, you're going to run into that issue over and over again.

You are so incredibly wrong, I almost don't know where to begin... I'll start with how you didn't take my advice. Ya know, the advice to do a little research before posting again, Ace Combat 6 did give the 360 a short boost in Japan, however, the PS2 still outsells it over there. It's currently as such; Linky!

1. PSP
2. DS
3. Wii
4. PS3
5. PS2
6. 360

Even 30 seconds on google will show you that.

As for that chart, I don't care about the Wii, I don't consider it to be apart of the real sales race since the attach rate for games is so low. I count it in the same race against Furby and Tickle Me Elmo. Yes, it's selling well, but not as a gaming system it seems, as a fad more than anything at this time. Doesn't change the fact that as a gamer, I am severely disappointed in the console, and it's games.

Sony had the patient for the Sixaxis technology back in 1999, and has been publicly toying with motion based gaming since the release of the original Eyetoy in 2003. But that matters not to me since motion sensitive gaming right now is shallow and poorly used. It's a faze for gaming and probably won't last long in general.

And now you're taking a trolls leap, Sony dropped the boomerang due to the negative response from their fanbase, it was always advertised as wireless, and a concept. Honestly, as for going back to the classic dualshock design, there's nothing wrong with that, what isn't broken doesn't need to be fixed. The dualshock controller is just as important to the Playstation franchise as Mario is to Nintendo, and XBL is to Microsoft.

All in all mate, you don't know anything about the current status of the industry, all you have are delusional fanboy dreams of a failing Sony console. You're going to be really disappointed in reality sets in on you.

that post made you drop about 4 points on my credibility meter drinky sad
now your just a slightly more credible than normal person instead of credibility god
Prove the statement wrong, the console is a casual gamers haven. It easily has the biggest library of titles, and yet the lowest rating average (largely due to the shovelware games), Titles like Wii Fit sell oodles and yet hardcore games like No More Heroes flop. Nintendo is dumbing down their previous strengths in order to accommodate the casual crowd as seen with games like Brawl, Mario Kart, and Strikers. As I previously mentioned, the game attach rate for the Wii is almost embarrassing Wa-la!.

Nintendo has certainly hit a gold mine with the Wii, I work at Best Buy and how frantically people wanted the system during the holidays was damn well near terrifying. Once or twice, we took bets on which fat mother carting two kids in tow would get to the back of the store first, most of the time they were running, and once it got violent (a poor kid got an elbow in the face by a frantically grabby woman). But no matter the desperation to get a Wii that was displayed, they seldom got a game with it, some times they'd pick up a Wiimote or Nunchuk.

It all reminds me of the Furby Craze, or the Tickle-Me-Elmo craze. Hell, even Beanie Babies can be a fair comparison. Reports say that the Wii has sold nearly 30 million units in a year and a half, I'd be daft not to call that impressive, but I'm far from convinced that it's due to it being a great game system.

Yes, I do own one by the way. I have played many games on it, and enjoyed a healthy number of them. However, when compared to the PS3 or 360, it's shallow, and I don't think that it will have a lasting effect on the market aside from being a fast selling casual console.

I do applaud Nintendo for opening the doors to more people and adding more diversity to the gaming industry, but I also feel that they are losing their artistic integrity (though they didn't really have much to begin with).

Care to dispute?

I resent that. stare I'm not going argue it because I don't feel like it but I do respectfully disagree.

the psp coverage was pretty dissapointing, absolutely nothing i didnt know was already on the way sad

seems like the only real nice new thing about psp is the functionality with ps3 and the pstore

Console wars? What "Wars" are there to have.

The PS3 is losing all the exclusives, even their most hardcore franchise, FFXIII, it can't stand up to the 360 at all.

Oh, you naive people.

PS3 still has tons of exclusives, as dose the 360.

And its not like the PS3 is the only one losing exclusives. the 360 is losing Bioshock, one of the 360's best FPS games(arguably, but it sold really well).

Plus, it wont do much with their sells. People who wanted the PS3 will still buy it, since they probably wernt only buying it for FFXIII. People who wanted a 360 will get one, and FFXIII will be a nice little extra.

For those who are on the fence, it still leans towards the PS3 if FF is one of the strong points concidering how there is still FFXIII VS, and supposedly other forms of FFXIII.

Plus, there has always been a war with sales. Have you seen the sales in Asia and Europe? You might be surprised on who is winning there.
