Anyway, I actaully decided to spend some effort on a Gaia arguement, so I went out and tracked down some of the games showcased at the Wii demos at E3. Both a Dragon Quest game AND a Final Fantasy game were premiered AT THE NINTENDO CONFERENCE.

Also, if Capcom quit Nintendo after RE4(Which, uh, was a huge success), why did they continue to make games on the system? Killer 7, the various Viewtiful Joe games, etc? Hmmm....do you see the flaw in your logic? I do.

Um, what? It was actually a pretty good use of the GBA hookup. Just because a lot of people didn't use it didn't mean the game was crap for utilizing the thing. By this logic, ALL guncon games are bad, because so few people own a guncon controller, and all the companies that push guncon games are just calling bluffs that the games are bad.

First off, you wanted evidence of third-party support. I gave that. Ubisoft, Activision, and EA are all thir-parties, and they have very much signed on with Nintendo to develop games for the Wii. In the case of Ubisoft, they're making lots of exclusinve games for the Wii, and they're actually ditching Sony pretty much altogether.

You said that Nintendo lost all it's third-party support. I showed proof that they hadn't. I belive YOU have been degraded to fanwank, ser.

Hahaha. You're funny. Have you actually bothered to read the IGN article I linked to, or watch the Nintendo conference? Because if you did you'd know that your "Sources" were wrong. They're also wrong about RE4 being Capcom's "Last straw" for Nintendo, because RE4 sold many, many copies and made a hearty profit for Capcom first off, and the fact that they continued developing games for GC AND DS after the game's release. They're also still making games for the Wii, if you had read the article I posted, you'd know this.

RE: Nintendo's supposed "failures" of systems.

DS is a runaway success in Japan, and it's doing pretty damn good in the US too. It's currently outselling the PSP, if I remember correctly(In any case, the PSP and UMD sales in general are slumping horribly and the DS is still running strong). I don't see how that constitues a "failure". I'm pretty sure that's a win.

N64 wasn't a failure either. Just because they came in second to the Playstation doesn't mean they failed. The cartridges were a bad decision, obviously, but they still sold enough units to remain healthy and in business. I'd call that a mild success.

Gamecube is the only system that has successfully made a profit in the past generation. It also had tons of exclusive games that were excellently made, and several high-powered companies jumped at the chance to develop exclusive games(Capcom being the biggest, though they squicked out and released the "Exclusives" for other systems as well). The system may have sold less than the others, but it is not a failure because in the end, Nintendo is still in the race and is still running strong with, OMG, a PROFIT.

Nintendo Playstation wasn't a failure. Neither was the 64DD. Neither of them was actually released, never made it off the drawing board. I don't know how that's a failure.



And before you even attempt to call me a fanwank again, please note that I plan on buying a 360 at some point because I really, really want to play Dead Rising, RE5, and Lost Planet. Wii just has, IMO, the best game lineup and is the only system in my price range as of right now. I currently own both the PS2 and the GC, and I play the PS2 roughly 10x as much as my GC. Though, only out of necessity, because I despise Sony as a company(I've owned two PS2's and I'm probably going to need a third soon becasue they're shitty pieces of machinery).

You seem to be pretty anti-Nintendo, first of all, calling them on "failures" that weren't failures at all, and generally just bashing on them unrelentlessly for reasons that you're making up on the spot.

And actually, Ubisoft has released a press statement that says they don't like the direction Sony is heading, and they're ready to jump ship at any time. I also don't see how you can say a motion-sensor built Madden and games like Red Steel aren't console exclusive. Because, uh, they are.
