Welcome to Gaia! ::

I am actually getting really tired of people saying that the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time is really hard. It's not hard to me at all.

I have said this lots of times on YouTube and people disagree with me, so a while ago I thought of theories of why it was so much easier for me.

Theory #1: Everything is harder as a child.

One of my main ideas of why the Water Temple was so much easier for me was that the fact that a lot of the people I talked to on YouTube about it played Ocarina of Time as a kid, while I am 14. As you know, games seem a lot harder when you are younger.

I proved my theory false, because a LOT of people that I talked to on YT are STILL struggling with it today, some older than me.

Theory #2: the 3DS version of the Water Temple is easier.

The first time I played Ocarina of Time was on the 3DS, because I was little and never heard of Ocarina of Time back when you could buy it in stores.

many people pointed to the fact that I was playing the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time, and that Nintendo must have made the Water Temple easier in that version, plus the iron boots can be set to a button.

This was false. The only thing that is different in the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time 3D, is that the doors to the rooms are color coded, which I hardly payed attention to. The iron boots being set to a button doesn't make the water temple easier, just faster. In the original, you have to bring up your menu, which makes it more time consuming. For example, if your television takes 2 minutes to turn on, it's not hard to turn on, it just takes longer, it's the same thing with the boots.

Maybe I just rock at Zelda games.

Okay, seriously, I am SO TIRED of the argument here.

All 3D zelda games are great, so there is no reason to fight over it because one finds the other one repetitive. get the hell over it. If someone likes one game over the other, STFU and deal with it, we can all agree that zelda games are amazing, so shut it. If i get one more person pointlessly arguing, I'm going to report all the arguing posts. ( I am already trying to get the thread deleted) This thread is over.

The "hardest" part was going in circles and changing the water so much when you didn't know where to go.

So it's not hard as in it'll kill you all the time, just that it takes longer because of running in circles.

The entire game in general is pretty easy. Even when I played it as a kid. I don't really know why people complain about the water temple being difficult. I personally didn't like that one out of all of them, but that's not because it was hard or anything, I just didn't enjoy it like I enjoyed other temples. However, I did like fighting Shadow Link. I felt BA as a kid fighting against "myself".
ive never found any water levels to be hard in any Zelda.
i just deduced that either A) people suck at the game, B) im awesome at the game, or C) people confuse the time it takes to constantly raise/lower the water with difficulty.

though, the thought of anything being "hard" in Zelda is just laughable to me.

The goron racing in Majora's mask?
I thought it was "hard" because on the N64 you always had to switch the boots manually in the item menue on and off. Was pretty annoying and so it took a while.

On the 3DS they changed the boots to a normal item so it's kinda easier...I guess.

I play Ocarina of Time for N64 (2000) for the first time to beat the Water Temple. It is not too hard. It's very easy! My cuzin at age 8 to beat that game. He said it's easy, too.
I never thought it was hard, just tedious. I hate Iron Boots and messing around with water level was annoying.
thats a lot of words about nothing
Just because you found the Water Temple to be simple doesn't mean that other people will not find it difficult.

The most difficult part of the temple is raising the water levels. It makes it tedious. Also the key found inside the building in the center of the temple was well hidden during the N64 Ocarina. In the 3DS version the camera shows the path you take to get to the key.
It was usually overlooked, just like the key on top of the tree to the entrance to the Forest Temple.
We got a bad a** over Here
Well, The Water Temple was difficult for me when I played it through for the first time when I was younger. But afterwards, like I do with every Zelda game, I memorized the entire dungeon after only completing it once. Every time I've played through it since then, I've had no trouble.

Tedious actions to a 10 year old was near torture back in the day. And since not everyone is perfect mcawesomeguyatgaming, even thinking about where to go loses you time because you'll end up doing something to the water level that you didnt need to, makes you sigh loudly and lose more time undoing the mistake.

And not everyone had access to guides either, so that meant they were all on their own unlike kids now.

This. It's not hard, just annoying.
It was annoying...

My least favorite thing was when I got to a point I needed to be... then realised I couldn't do anything because I had the wrong water level.

That happened at a few points.
