Going strictly by the FE games, I prefer Ike. He has personality and a bit of attitude, as opposed to the blank "prince character" of Marth. In SSBB, I still like Ike, not only because of the huge sword that does massive damage over huge ranges and knocks people out like nobody's business, but because of his cheer, which is awesome for those of us who know what it's talking about.

Anyways, I never did like the whole "royalty" factor in Fire Emblem. Ike was a nice change.

Ike is slow, but strong.
Marth is fast, and his forward, and backward smashes are powerful, and knock you back pretty far.

Not to the mention his Final Smash has a lot of range, but you can kill yourself with it if you miss.

I like Marth's speed. He's a lot weaker than both Ike and Roy, but at least he isn't a damn slug like Ike. D:

The irony, of course, is that Marth is the only Fire Emblem character in the Super Smash Bros. series who's any good from a gameplay perspective. Roy has all the damage output of a paper doll, and Ike moves with the urgency of iced molasses. They both suck. Marth is way better and gives me naughty thoughts.

Personally, I prefer laguz to beorc, and Tibarn is definitely the best but closely followed by Neasala. The heron princes are cool too, but in a battle, they're useless. Reyson broke his hand just punching someone.

As a Brawl character, Marth is far better; one of the best characters in the game, actually. Ike's good, though, if you can use his aerials ahead of time, learn to use his faster moves, and throw in a B-move or a Smash for surprise tactics.

Lyn IS in. She's just an epic assist trophy rather than an epic playable character.
