About X-play...

Has anyone here seen X-play? It's a show with brutally honest game reviews on G4Tech Tv on weekdays. I think you can watch it if you have sattelite.

It used to be my 3rd fav show on TV, but some of their reviews piss me off; so it's only my 4th fav now.


I was expected at least a 4/5 for Silent Hill 4, but they gave it a frickin' 3! scream

They gave both Splinter Cell and Soul Caliber 2 a 5/5, but I thought they were both terrible games. gonk



Still, giving a 5/5 to Silent Hill 2 & Silent Hill 3 keeps me from hating the show. I also like a lot of the funny things they do on the show.

It's their opinion to give those games a high score, I personally though Soul Calibur 2 is a great game. I never played Splinter Cell though.

They aren't honest. If they were, why would their show be sponsored (sp?) by Sony and Microsoft?

I don't really trust the show. I'd rather go read a few reviews on a game from multiple gaming magazines.

I really don't care what anyone says, this show is freaking great, if for no other reason then because their aren't any other shows out there like this. Well the channel in general I should say.

As far as nay sayers go, everyone dosen't think that one game is the best game, opinions change with the person so of course they are not necisarilly going to agree with your opinion, and the only true way to determine wether or not you are going to like the game is if you play it. You can't fault them for dislikeing a game you like, it's rediculous.

Some say that they are... fair, but... I don't know. I don't like their reviews. I think that they are a bit biased. perhaps I am just unhappy because they give bad rating to my favorite games, but I feel they encourage graphics a little more than they should. I mean like, supporting a system because it is "better" than another because it has much higher abilities. (I feel bad trying to say this, like I could be offending someone, I apoligise) they seem (to me) like people who arn't really gamers, but rather part time gamers. They remind me of some jocks/preps I know that say they play games, but don't really. They play them (or at least own them), but not all the time. They do not carry favor in game play, when you could have better graphics.

I can't spell, and I apoligise (spelling?) if I seem... to jump to conclusions. I admit that I have only seen a little Tech TV, and they were mostly reviews.... I guess that is mostly what everybody has seen. well anyway, that is just my opinion.

Lol, don't apologize so much man, you gotta command authority! Seriously though, I don't think they are emphasizeing graphics because they like the games better like that but because they have to try to remain impartial and since alot of gamers now are concerned about graphics they have to rate the graphics as part of the whole which is disconcerting to true gamers like myself and apparently you because we focus mostly on the gameplay. It would be nice if they reviewed the games like gameplay and the rest of it on one side and then graphics review sorta seprate so they don't have to incorperate it with the rest of the game.

When they reviewed SH4 though, they didn't mention too many of the positive aspects of the game like the graphics and the story. Besides, they've gotten used to hating "escort missions"; and since most of SH4 is an "escort mission", then that could've played a role in their rating. Also, I think the fact that Resident Evil 4 has been confirmed for the PS2 could have also affected the rating.
These are just speculations though, they probably aren't true; but you never know.

Most of the time it's an honest show, and most of the time I agree with their ratings; it's just those three reviews that bug me.

I watch X-play but that's a tv show NOT a game therefore I doubt it belongs in the game discussion(Even though the show is about games it's not a game itself). So please, use the entertainment discussion forum!
