There is an unofficial workaround for this problem.

What you can do is click on the x (top right of window) to close out the game. It will pop up a message screen behind the current 'captureless' one. It is behind it so you can't read it, so you need to use your mouse to hover over the message screen and move across from left to right until you find the 'yes' button behind it. (When you hover over it will change the pointer to a hand.) When you click on that button, it should pop up a new save window, this time in front of the previous one, and give you a new capture text that you can use. 3nodding
