Can't get quest from Rubella 'talk to friend in Zen Garden'

Where it happened:
Bills Ranch

What happened:
There was a lag while speaking to Rubella, and I jumped off the screen into another area, and now I can't seem to get the quest. My friend and I were doing the quests together, and he got it and I did not, and it doesn't show up in my quest log. Talking to Rubella again doesn't give me the quest.

Is there a way that you can possibly activate the quest for me?
