What I don't understand and what I can't stand are the ones that insist on trying to justify what they're doing when asked politely to knock it off because, you know, we're trying to talk Harry Potter here. The worst are the ones who swear that it's totally all right to be cybering because, you know, the block is CALLED 'cyber here' and how dare anyone point out that it's inappropriate to actually cyber in Towns regardless of the name of the block. Because, as we all know, a user-named block on Towns completely trumps the ToS. WTH?

For the most part, I just go around randomly reporting them without even telling them and leave it at that. But I'll definitely support your cause, and I wonder if having an organized group who is going around reporting cyberers and have them become well-known will possibly help cut down on the instances there, possibly by intimidating the cyberers a bit and letting the Gaia staff know that, really, this is becoming a major problem in Towns. I don't want to go into any discussion on Gaia and catch a 12 year old trying to score a cyber hook-up, and I'm fairly certain there are a lot of parents who wouldn't appreciate that either.

I'm new myself. I joined gaia less than a week ago.

I found out quickly that the towns aren't a good place for the young teens (irl) who are allowed to join. It was disgusting and scary, and I'm afraid some of the newbies (distinct from n00bs) are getting scared off of gaia because of it. But heck, all I want to do is chase bugs and pick flowers, just like them, and maybe talk to people once in a while (as long as they aren't hitting on me). If you see me in the towns and I act shy, that's why!

Maybe I could create another account and disguise myself as a man? Do you ever REALLY know anyhow?

I've never seen a reason to report cyberers. Sure, it's against the rules, but they aren't coming to you. You're willfully going into houses and cybering topics to report. Enjoy your thoughts or "Righteousness and Justice!" or feeling the "Duty" to report, but in reality, it's pretty much sucking up.

Trying to defend the young ones? Why not let the parents do the explaining? The parent should be aware of what their kid is doing, at that age period.

Seriously though, give me three decent reasons to take a stand against cybering and report, and I'll help.

Ill be honest , I find it disturbing because how do we know an adult isnt cybering with a minor, its almost like its allowing child predators free rain here, as a mother I am bothered by this . Secondly, I myself was even asked during fishing if I would cyber, good god I was fishing in my own room! Not really fair is it, I felt harassed, And no I dont want to disguise my self as a boy, cant wear skirts that way. Most recently, while surfing Gaia Towns, I've noticed an increasing number of "cyberers.". They'll start ANYWHERE, and some even enter other houses, so as not to get caught. We even caught two of them 'going at it' in Cassie's house.

Anyway, this board has been set up, to advertise the dangers of cybering. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Other then it being against the TOS of Gaia there's no need to try and police this. It's not our place to tell these kids what's wrong or right, that is their parent's problem.

Obviously if their breaking the rules it's free reign to report them.

But if it bothers you so much then just leave the area they're at. I'm in towns very often and I rarely see this happening.

The best way to catch cyber n00bs is to hide as grunny or longcat.

Grunny can easily hide behind 'view profile'
Longcat can hide at the edge of the window.

This way n00bs won't notice you.
Best way to go, I caught many n00bs this way. 3nodding

I just used the grunny method to catch two people in a house.

I came out from under the exit house icon and they were like "what is that rabbit doing there."lol

I am interested in any effort to stop the widespred cybering in Gaia towns.
