Did you wait until the bar filled up and then hit the spacebar?
If the bar does not fill up, there may be a glitch. :/

my watermelon chop has now been running for 50+ minutes. I'm too stubborn to exit. it was my last game. I got such good scores.

I'm having the same problem, I hope they fix it before the Rejected Olympics is over. u_u I already closed down, and my scores weren't too bad. Oh well. I'm experiencing the same glitch.
