Hey guys,

I'm going to change the scoring soon so that new people joining a team no longer affect game scores (thus causing overall scores to drop). We already had something in place for this, but we'll be releasing a refined version soon.

You should see scores jump a little bit, as well as become more competitive.

I'm not sure exactly what he means, but by saying "so that new people joining a team no longer affect game scores (thus causing overall scores to drop)" I would expect it to mean that people who just dump their character on a team won't affect the team's overall until there's some serious scoring going on.

Wait... does he really mean that people who joined in them middle of the event won't get their scores counted to the average?

Or does he mean the people who join gaia and then the event won't count, as people would just create loads and put on the teams?

Yeah tons of people are confused about this. Lets hope an admin/dev will clear it up within the day because alot are giving up thinking their scores dont even count.

I really need an explanation for this.

Does it mean that if you joined a team after day 2 it doesn't count?

OR

Does it mean that if you made an account after day 2 it doesn't count?

OR

Does it mean that if you JUST join the game (therefore having an average of 0) you don't affect the score until you play something?

If it's option 1 that's bull s**t.

2 is slightly better but in a way it's unfair. (then maybe not, I mean newbies still get all the perks for the event just have no effect overall.

3 is fine and makes perfect sense so I'm hoping it's that.

I don't know if this is the correct interpretation, but when I first read this, I figured it meant that people who join a team and then get straight 2s to bring their opposition down wpuld not be counted. When you join a team, you would have to meet the prerequisites - things like being on gaia for more than a few hours, getting at least a decent score (I'd say 5's, but that's me), etc. Not that only the people who joined the first day counted.

I could be wrong, but this seems more likely.

Well three is still sort of unfair because people would just score all 2.0s.

... Well, dang. I'd really like to know if I can even influence the scores. stare I didn't join until Wednesday (or was it Thursday?). I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time trying to rally for Barton- I have pretty good scores, too. sad

It's really hard to score straight twos. lol
Cause I was trying to get the lower Items and a few times my scores were too high...
gonk

In any case, it's more unfair if people who just joined the event have no influence. It's unfair to say "you don't influence your team if you don't have a 5 or higher" because maybe someone who's really passionate acctually sucks. xp

Or in scoring they could throw out the lower margin...that would make more sense.

Oh yeah, that's healthy.

Will scores of > 10 be adjusted down?
(from the glitched games - "don't shoot" etc, where shooting would increase your score)

I really hope you take this into consideration before declaring the winner, as it was only 0.01 difference overall...

You don't have to score low to get "the lower items"...
If you score high first time, you get the "higher" item.
If you score high again, you get the other item.
