Clarifying login achievements
Regarding the birthday achievement and the loiterer-style achievements (i.e. login 30 days in a row). This was brought up in the ATA yesterday and I've had a few follow-up questions. I hope this post clarifies the issue.

The Birthday achievement requires that you log into Gaia on the day of your birthday, but is extremely flexible -- you can miss by several hours and it will grant the achievement.

Regarding the Loiterer and similar achievements, (@see http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/gaia-news-updates/site-changes/t.63632027_717/#717).
Since that Staff Notice, we calculate logins based on your local timezone. This is different from other features (such as Daily Chance, which exclusively uses the server timezone).

I just wanted to clarify this after some questions in the ATA yesterday.

Google retiring the Meebo Bar

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that Google is going to be retiring the Meebo Bar on June 6th, 2013. Although this was a business decision made by Google, we understand that this will affect your ability to use the Meebo chat functionality on Gaia, and know that has to be frustrating for you. Sorry about this - some things we just have no control over!

At this point, we'll be looking for possible replacements for the Meebo Bar, but in the meantime, you can always pm each other, go to Towns 2 or zOMG! and chat, or post in forums or guild threads, etc.

CashTree temporarily disabled
One of our partner providers for CashTree (SocialVibe) needs some maintenance. We will try and make changes quickly and get it back up and running ASAP.

We made some low-level changes to the item system and apparently we overlooked one thing. Many item-related features might be broken for the next few minutes.

Help Articles for Towns 2 in the Help Center!

Hey everyone!

Just a heads up that I made a few articles about Towns 2 and these are live in the Help Center! These articles will explain how to get around Towns 2, walk faster in Towns 2, buy a house, etc. The articles are also super easy to find - no worries, you don't have to plow through the whole Help Center. Just go to: https://www.gaiaonlinehelp.com and look on the main page under the "Most Recent Topics" section. That's where you'll find them!

Also, if you have any suggestions for Towns 2 Help Articles you'd like to see but which we don't currently have, please feel free to pm me and let me know.

Two small fixes...
but I'm sure these two will make some users very happy.
(#1) I found a subtle little bug which prevents some users from being able to select multiple friend requests and decline them. Apparently we didn't expect users to decline new friends when we originally released the friendslist feature 0.0
(#2) Comments pagination in Journals were broken because they weren't passing along the journal-owner's user ID in the URL.

These two are now fixed!

*A little annoying dragon appears! If you interpreted his weird wiggle dance correctly, he's telling you to come over to the Dragons Be Here forum to get beaten up by some of his big brothers and sisters. If that doesn't appeal to you, you could probably try slaying them.

This event will run tomorrow as well, so keep your eyes peeled for lots of chances to fight!*

*The dragons in the Dragons Be Here forum appear to be conspiring for a final showdown at 4pm PST! If you all work together to roll all the damage you can, they won't last an hour!

If Ebonscald is not defeated by 4pm, he will go into rage mode! Do all the damage you can in the last hour to finish him!

Good work, hunters! These lousy dragons will definitely be gone by 5pm PST!*
