I very much love and support this idea. I think I very well might do this as long as I have to money to.

To those who think it'll form elitists, if paying monthly for something would mean an extra bonus, then I'm all for it. I'm paying for extra thus I expect something extra that normal users wouldn't get.

Wish the discount would be permanent though gonk

Would love to see PayPal implemented soon heart

I'm all for this feature. It'd make purchasing Gaia Cash extremely convenient on me and any other user who would opt in for this subscription service.

I love the idea of the 20% bonus for signing up, it give me even more incentive to actively use the feature. wink You guys really have me hooked at least a three month subscription because I would love to see what that exclusive item would be~!

However as far as the discount is concerned, it would be significantly better if the subscribed users had the discount as a permanent effect and not just a 2 month deal.

Also, regarding those comments about the so-called "elitism" that might arise... if I'm paying for a feature that costs me money and grants me certain privileges that non-paying users didn't have then I expect it to remain that way. I'm paying for it for a reason and it's a completely voluntary thing; they don't have to pay to continue using Gaia. 4laugh

This sounds like something I would be interested in. I will certainly try it out for a few months.

I kind of really really hate this.

So as a user who buys Gaia Cash cards, I'm not being told I'm not worth the same loyalty rewards?
Instead of this BS that isolates anyone without a credit card or who refuses to use it on frivolous things, you should be creating a system that is actually a rewards program.

Something that keeps track of the Cash bought.

Someone who signs up for a monthly 10 bucks service shouldn't be favoured above someone who (potentially) spends 50 bucks a month on cash cards. Keeping track of all the cash and giving out prices on certain levels (like after the 50, first 100 ect ect) would be more fair imo. Still, I do like this service as well, and I definitely think it should be implemented, it just seems to exclude a lot of people who also give a lot. (So first a system that keeps track of everything and then after that a subscription service would seem more fair, though I don't know what kind of coding that takes.) This looks awesome to me. We buy more than that in GCash monthly, so there's little reason for us not to. My husband and I will probably actually both sign up separately.

But it's just an incentive ... you get bonus items with the Cash Cards that aren't being offered with the Auto Cash. Lots of businesses use this kind of subscription program ... most subscriptions for just about anything are cheaper if you buy them in bulk or if you sign up for a set amount of time rather than buying whatever is offered individually. That's why subscription magazines are cheaper than buying the same number of issues on the newsstand, phone carriers give you free phones if you sign up for a contract, and any [insert item here]-of-the-month club worth its salt offers gifts for those who sign up for several months at a time.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.I know. I know this happens a lot and I know exactly why they do it, which is why I said I think they should implement it. But that doesn't mean I completely agree with it. I just think Gaia is a different kind of business. Basically anyone can get a subscription to a magazine, that isn't nearly as limited as creditcard owners. More importantly, it's not just 'I give money because I want the items' it's also 'I want to support Gaia'. So business-wise it may be the same system, PR wise it doesn't work exactly the same. It'd just be nice if Gaia showed they cared about the people who support them big time, instead of just credit card owners XD; (How about giving a discount to people who buy a 50 bucks cash card? Or something.) But again, I'm still pro this system and would use it myself 3nodding User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
So... the "bonus" cash is an additional 1200 gs on top of the 10$ you pay to sign up? This was rather confusing.

No, you get a bonus of 200 GC (which adds up to the 20%) for a total of 1200 for the price of 1000.

Too bad I don't have a credit card, otherwise I'd totally be for this.
Very tempting...I might just have to sign up.

Honestly, I don't see a whole lot of long term benefit for the user to sign up for this. An extra $2 value upon sign up (I'm assuming it's not recurring from the wording), a temporary discount, and one bonus item? Not much perk here. If I had $30 to spare, I'd probably sign up for just the three months then never touch it again. I mean, what's the point of shelling out $120 after a year if all I got was $2, a 2 month discount, and an item? I mean, yeah I got the cash, but I can just buy that in larger chunks on my own.

We need more value for our money.

  • Permanent discount
  • Bonus cash every month or at least recurring bonus cash throughout the subscription
  • No ads! - You should just switch the no ads from the MCs to this. You can't get the 'no ads' benefit by buying MCs with cash as it stands anyways. Might as well just update the whole thing.
  • Ability to auto-purchase MCs (since I usually spend at least $5 a month in MCs anyways, this would be a definite perk)

I mean, there's really no reason to stay signed up for this past 3 months for these meager incentives as it stands right now.

But beyond the long term incentive thing, I really like this feature! When I have money, I'm a regular cash shop buyer so a subscription with benefits really suits me. I would like to see higher denominations available in the future! (NOT replace! have $10 AND $20! Not one or the other). One thing I do NOT want to see between the two, though, is a difference in discounts. Please, please, PLEASE have the same discount for different denominations.

I also really like that users can opt in and out whenever they want! No contract! Yay! Can't wait until PayPal is used for subscriptions!
i agree with this
