Listen, I just now started a thread rallying people against the stupid red button of fail. Many of us are sick of it and we would love to see these homepages come back or at least some newer one. That button doesn't quite do it anymore and many of us have stated that if we were new members we wouldn't press the button as its just so ugly and annoying. So please, please, and double please. Start reusing these homepages again. Thank you.

See I am not the only one here Gaia. Also, yes fresh ideas like maybe add some ZOMG or some mini-comic storylines to the front page would be nice as well.

Really, you don't have to get rid of the red button but it would be more than welcome to have some variety around here. It might amp up the number of new accounts around here.

This sounds good, but there might need to be a few filters in place; say, for instance, "Billy No Good" posts something offensive in the GD or "Sally Doesn't Care" posts something equally hateful (but at a different topic) in the Site Feedback.
Or, for example, filter usernames themselves; we have so many juvenile usernames because people think the word "porn" or "condom" or "orgasms" is the coolest thing ever to have people refer to them as.

Just some constructive crit.

I'm excited, as I hate the current big red button one. I wish it would go back to rotating, and can we please see the mermaid one back? I seriously used to stop for a few seconds every time that one showed up, just to admire the gorgeous artwork. <3

⟣˳The top ones that I think show what Gaia's essence would be, in order:

• M - Most current and up to date; somewhat direct contact with the user base; has us Gaians explain what Gaia is to us [at least that's my understanding of it].
  
• E - Sticks to the anime roots. We may have evolved to include other things, but we will always be a anime based forum.
  
• D - Shows how diverse Gaia is; also points to Aquariums and zOMG which makes Gaia different from other sites.
  
• K - Esthetically pleasing; doesn't really explain what we're about but shows a relaxed, come hang-out vibe.

I'd like to also add that I like how there's a pop-up when you press the button. It makes it easier to join instead of going though the other page BUT, the fact that your avatars looks are chosen for it is the downfall. To have the avatars looks already chosen for you really sucks. I see it causing lots of problems and head aches for the Q&A with newbies asking how to change their color [of anything] and such. Then again, it's be a great gold sink for them 'cause they'd might just run to the stores to change their looks instead of the free delete your avatar way.

A - It's rather simple, it's nice but it's also missing a few details on it, such as being able to uniquely design their own avatar, and what you can post about (such as popular topics that could capture different groups of people).

B - It's pretty much like A but much better. It gives more details into what you can do on Gaia and can capture different groups of people together. The header is rather catchy as well, as it may lure more people into the web site.

C - This is rather okay - it shows examples of creative ways to create your own type of avatar and gives brief statement on what you can do on Gaia, but I don't quite see, as myself, being catchy (to lure myself in if I wasn't playing Gaia). Although, I love the humor on the page.

D - This one is rather well, too. It shows zOMG, and what you can do there (hits game-players into games such as), it shows the aquarium and informs you that you can create one. States you can design their own avatar and even shows certain "popular" topics. I personally think it's very eye-catchy.

E - I think this is perfect to use on Gaia, since anime is huge here, it would really draw in anime-fans and it has a really nice feel to it, I like it a lot and it lures me in.

F - Hm, this one is rather good - it really brings attention and can lure you in easily. But it doesn't have much information on the page itself. It pretty much just states that you shop, dress and than show your avatar off. With no information on anything else (such as the forums, how to earn gold, zOMG etcetc).

G - Pretty much the same as F, although it can (at the same time) grab a few groups of people, such as the main focus on the image (which would be the middle) - it can grab Cosplayers, cat fans, and yet grab just other people with the first and second avatar. But, it doesn't give much detail onto the whole web site.

H - Well, it is very eye-catchy and makes you want to learn more about it (for myself at least), but considering not everyone thinks like I do - I would assume a lot of people look past it since it doesn't explain much. So, it's a bit like F and G.

I - I'm not true sure with this one considering Homes hasn't been updated in awhile... it could possible grab people that are just looking to make friends or gamers (due to the top banner), but I don't think it would lure a wide-variety of people. It doesn't have much details on the web site itself.

J - This one has a lot of details yet is still eye-catchy. It explains that you can create your own avatar in their own unique style, states how you can earn gold, that you can create your own unique profile (and even add music), and you also state a few topics (the bubbles over the head) with unique-styled avatars, so it would most likely draw all types of people into Gaia.

K - It's really nice art and pretty much shows the concept of Gaia (in a way) but I believe if you're completely new to this web site you might not so understand it, it may make people want to join just to learn more but it could also just make people look the other way. However, with the art being as lovely as it is, it would most likely grab people's attention.

L - Mhm, to be honest - I don't quite like this one, it really doesn't go into details other than you can go from poor to rich... it has pictures and everything, but it doesn't go into any detail whatsoever.

M - I really like this and think this would probably be the best to use. It's new, flashy and actually shows real users ; including, people may check out what someone was doing, enjoy it and easily get interested enough to join.
