Welcome to Gaia! ::

What has made you passionate about the music you write?

What got you into writing music?

What do you use as an inspiration for the types of music you write (eg. the music for zen gardens, or your japanese pop music or other background music themes)?
Yes!
I love his works and I even play some of the songs from zOMG on my violin.
Here are my questions! Some of them were already asked, though.

  • What composers and or styles of music have influenced you throughout your musical life? How about which songs by certain composers?

  • Play any instruments? If so, what was your first? How was it like for you learning how to play it.

  • What was your first musical experience in life.

  • Was it always your dream to work with music?

  • Will any of the songs in zOMG and pieces I have heard on Gaia be released into buyable tracks?

  • Do you have any future works with Gaia involved coming out? If so, can you give us a hint?

  • Also, have you ever come to visit Japan? I would love to meet you someday. We could have very interesting musical discussions!

Thank you for reading and I hope at least some are answered!

Your music is awesome! 3nodding
(( ahh my edit button has disappeared so I can't edit my earlier reserved post!!! ))

Well, that aside, I would just like to begin by saying that I am a HUGE fan of the work you've done for zOMG, Mr. Soule.

As for my questions:

- How difficult or easy was it for you to come up with the songs for each area?
- To expand of the above question, do you normally work with a large amount of references (such as clients explaining the mood they would like the song to convey, providing screenshots or concept art of what the song with be covering, etc) or just a brief idea or description of what the song should be about?
- In your business, how much freedom do you receive from clients for writing and composing songs? Do you normally have the option to decide on the mood and overall "feel" you want the player to have, or is that completely decided by your client?
- How did you come to work in this field? Do you find that your job, overall, is an enjoyable experience?
- What advice would you give to aspiring artists interested in following a similar career path to yours?
- Regarding zOMG, are there any songs that you are extremely pleased with? What is your favorite song you've done for this game?
- Now taking a look in the other direction, is there any song(s) you feel that did not achieve the full effect that you wanted to convey, or that you could have done a better job on? If you had the chance to go back and revise any of the songs, would you?
- Have you ever played any of the games you have composed for? If so, what are your favorites?
- Is there any time that you've rejected certain clients (whether the reason is lack of time, personal morals, etc.)? If so, do you regret your choice?
- Are there any times of games you specifically enjoy composing for? What is your favorite type of music to compose?
- Do you compose as a hobby as well?
- Finally, what would you describe as being your biggest achievement, career-wise? And overall in your life?

Thank you so much for your hard work Mr. Soule! I would be extremely honored if you were able to answer my questions!
WE WOULD LOVE SHEET MUSIC!! heart scream heart
WILL YOU BE ABLE TO PLEASE RELEASE SHEET MUSIC?
Wat Are The Mini-Games?
my favorite pieces of yours are the zen gardens and the null void!

the null void one is just so tranquil that i just leave it playing while i do other works.

will downloadable versions ever be out? or are there already some?

keep up the awesome work!
can zomg get some cash mrgreen
zOMG's composer?

I can't think of anything right now, but I'll ask later.
can anyone donate me 6k? plsssss
Sorry, one more question!

- Were there any songs you did for zOMG that were rejected, not used, or just never put into production? If so, why, and do you regret that they are not a part of the game?

(( Also, to all of the people who are asking specific questions about game design and gameplay, such as the rings, the plot, etc. this is the wrong place to ask. Mr. Soule wrote the music for zOMG, and that's it. He was not involved with the other design aspects. If you have questions about other parts of the game, ask the director of zOMG. His screenname is Qixter. ))

Do not be alarmed.
This is a post.
This is only a post.

Seriously, people need to stop asking him how to win at Zomg.
He's a music composer, ask him about the music.
If you want to know how to win, go read a zomg guide in the forums.
