Hi everyone,
We’ve seen a lot of questions around the forums about our Angelic Halo giveaway, so we’re creating this thread to answer some of the most common ones. Feel free to link here if you’d like, and we’ll add more info to this thread if needed.
You said this the Angelic Halo is from a banned account – does this mean that you take items from banned accounts regularly?
No – we don’t regularly take items from banned accounts and redistribute them, although it's possible we may do so in the future when it's clear that the account won't be reinstated. In this case, the account had committed a big violation of our Terms of Service years ago, and definitely wasn’t going to be reinstated. We didn't want an item that is so awesome just sitting there rusting in this account, so we decided to dig it out for this event.
You said you'd never re-release these monthly collectible items. What gives?
We've said that we would never mass re-release these types of items, meaning that we wouldn’t make them available to the general public through the Cash Shop or some other means. We do give items such as the Angelic Halo out in very limited quantities for special occasions – it’s been a prize on our spinning wheel at conventions for years. We release them VERY carefully, but you may see a few given out in the future as well (such as the Grand Prize in other contests/games).
Why do I need to spend Gaia Cash to enter the contest?
Since this giveaway is to celebrate the initial release of the Angelic Halo, and to thank everyone for their support over the years, we wanted to provide something for everyone. Simply for visiting our landing page, you can grab yourself a free brand-new Wind Halo. And as a special thank you for those spending Gaia Cash on the site, you'll get an entry into the contest for every 99 Gaia Cash you spend. See our landing page for all the details.
So how do the entries work? Do you calculate them per purchase, or by total amount spent this month? For example, if I buy two Monthly Collectibles for 250 Gaia Cash each at different times during the month, how many entries do I get?
The way we're figuring out the entries is pretty simple. We add up the total amount of Gaia Cash you've spent this month and divide by 99 (since you get 1 entry per 99 Gaia Cash spent). In this example, you will have spent a total of 500 Gaia Cash, so you'll get 5 entries into the contest. We'll then of course randomly pick a winner after the month is over.
